Pleasantly surprised. A newcomer to the city which already has some fierce competition for escape rooms. The staff were great and accomodating.
The layout is different compared to other traditional escape rooms, with (at time of writing this) 8 rooms all sharing the same story and layout as each other. The hosts start rooms in sessions at the same time. So as you're solving clues you can (just) hear the cheers of other teams as they solve a clue. Forcing you to go faster. And if you finish first a great reward.
I've only done the one room, Parallax. However the room was great, and followed a very linear format. The room was littered with Red Herrings so be weary. More than the usual escape room. There was also alot of unique things to the room, setting it apart from simple UV lights and Code Breaking.
Staff provided clues through the in room display, when requested.
My only gripe, the lobby/waiting experience before starting could be improved. Other venues offer light refreshments before starting, considering the high price of Escape Rooms in general, it would be appreciated.
Overall we had a great time and will...
Read moreWas given this as a 50th Birthday gift, up until my visit I was an escape room virgin. 2 of us tried the easier of the two challenges called Timelock, Parallax been the trickier one. There are multiples of each room so large groups can enter at the same time and compete against each other, which is pretty cool. Both of our hosts were superb, listen to everything they say and look at the prompts screen in the room regularly and you should be OK. We escaped with around 6 minutes to spare, the puzzles were tricky but not impossibly so and if the games master notices you fixating on something or struggling for too long a helpful hint will pop up on the screen to nudge you along. You can ask for help too if you want but we managed without having to. The puzzles are all linear so as soon as you have used a note/items/key/codes etc, you can discard them and never return to them, find somewhere to pile them up! We had a fab time I'd recommend this to anyone it really was a great...
Read moreAs a family that have done loads of rooms- we had fun at this escape room but probably wouldn’t return to do the other one. Unfortunately the puzzles were all very samey and it did get a bit repetitive. The introduction was WAY too long- took around 30 minutes just to get into the room. Other thing is that because the rooms are all packed so tightly together you can fully hear the other teams in the rooms next door- at one point someone shouted out an answer that we were in the middle of doing and it kind of ruined the atmosphere the whole way through. The room was also a bit basic and predictable. Kind of a shame because if they’d packed the rooms all a little less close together and made each one a bit more complex and detailed it would have been so much better. Nonetheless it was a fun hour and we did...
