This is a lovely little beach which is on the mouth of the river Teign giving the Town it’s name of Teignmouth in this pretty coastal town in south Devon. On our visit it was a lovely day with glorious sun shine, this is a very picturesque part of the Town where all the lovely boats are moored with lots going on with all the boats coming and going and people enjoying there selves on the beach and in the water..there are also places to eat and drink in the vicinity...a must visit if you are in...

Truly fantastic place to just sit and contemplate the cosmos, or take children and play on the beach, swim and go crabbing. There are a number of excellent pubs and restaurants that serve the back beach and artist area. I particularly like, Oyster Catcher, the Ship and the Crab Shack. Teignmouth is a fantastic place to stay, use as a base to discover the Torquay Rivera and Dartmoor, or just go for the day, sit on the beach...

I prefer the Back Beach to the main beach as it's more rustic and has lots of character. It's great to see all the different boats on the beach, the old ferry that goes to Shaldon and the working Teignmouth docks. It all takes you back in time and is a truly magical place. There's a couple of really old pubs nearby as well as cafes, shops and a public car park not far away.

The sun was out, the sea was warm. However, there was a very large group of holiday makers,15 or more, adults & children, maybe from Yorkshire or Lancashire, who were not self distancing, who seemed to think it was ok to sit within inches of us! This was not appreciated. Would be nice if they are in our county, to have the courtesy to politely keep their distance.
