Terrible. We were excited to hear it was being taken over and had met up with some friends to go here for lunch. I arrived last and my friends all had paper cups with hot chocolate etc. I asked if they got them to takeaway and the answer was a no with puzzled looks. I ordered a lemonade at the bar along with food for everyone and it was just so so odd. I was given my drink on a tray to take to our table. Then had to return the tray once I'd placed my drink on our table. OK!?! The food was hugely overpriced £9.99 for a simple cheese burger. On its own. If you want chips you have to pay an extra £3. When the food came (a little too quickly for my liking) within minutes.... not a good sign. It was so amazingly disappointing. The food was served on some weird bamboo thing that looked dirty. Our burgers were dry. The buns were dry. No salad. Nothing. Just a plain jane burger. My friend ordered a chicken burger with mayo (it's advertised as having mayo on it) it came without.. and when asking for sauce we were instructed on where to get it ourselves. Cuttlery with out napkins was suplied. Thanks. It was so odd. When we were there for around an hour and a half... we saw 5 of the 6 staff members eating at tables. Including the manager. So bizarre. Didn't feel like we were having lunch in a nice place. Felt like we had gone to a burger van and told we could sit indoors. We are local. We Wont be going back. Go to The View. It's...

This place looks lovely but the whole experience was so disappointing! Kids had pancakes (thin and small) with strawberry 'pieces' which were actually canned strawberries! The tiniest portion but that didn't matter anyway as one of the kids couldn't eat them as they were 'so slimy and sweet!' The breakfast menu has no tomatoes or avocado or anything green. I had to ask for extra butter 3 times to a rude woman who kept saying I'd had extra butter but I explained that I'd had to share that with my husband who didn't get any butter with his full english. And right in front of me, she scowls as if I"m completely out of order for asking. The butter portions were tiny in a little paper cup, as were the sauces and marmalade, seems such a waste although they say a lot about how environmentally friendly they are! Dishes would be a better option surely? They use reusable bamboo plates but no-one is checking if they're fit for purpose and some of them didn't sit flat anymore they were that old, all discoloured and looked dirty. Also way overpriced for what you get! We were the only ones in there at 10am and they opened at 9. When we left, there's a cafe 2 mins away which was full of people enjoying breakfast inside and out so I'm guessing the locals are avoiding this place for good reason. I should've checked google reviews in advance....

What can you say . I get they are marketing as a eco friendly establishment but , So hot drinks served in cardboard cups while sitting in ? The glue used in these cups and the volume they will be using outweighs just using China and washing them . Food served on bamboo/ leaf plate , it looked dirty and used by many and then while eating it just spins around on the table .

Food quality not great , breakfast very underwhelming, egg overcooked and sausage had plastic texture . Many people walking in and not sure what to do , have a sign saying find a table and then order at bar , although that was choas .

Owner /manger extremely rude and not just to us witnessed it a few times . Seems they just want your money and don’t want to provide service . Dirty cups and plates left on tables and cutlery station and condiments area not cleaned (maybe just when I went to use ) so evident you need more than 2 running they service area and floor . Such a good opportunity to be great and we know first week of opening and things happen , but not to this extend Won’t return , don’t mind paying for quality but it’s not and manger attitude awful . So many existing places in Teignmouth are 100 percent better and more deserving of...

I stumbled on this lovely seaside cafe along the promenade, with amazing views, and enjoyed a plate of delicious fresh sardines, simply made with olive oil, served with bubble and squeak which was lovely, although I had some seasoned spicy fries as well and they were delicious! Nicely fried! Great ambience, very chilled dog friendly cafe with amazing staff (Tom, Arthur, and Emily) who were all very attentive and welcoming to the dog and I. She got some treats and a bit of fuss which she enjoyed! We will definitely be returning for the whole mackerel which sounds equally tempting! Day 2 - returned for dinner and had some mackerel which tasted amazing!

I visited here after Parkrun on Saturday as we usually grab a breakfast afterwards. This was my first and last visit. Only one of the 3 staff members spoke to us, and that was to take our order. We ordered the full breakfast and pot of tea. It looked nice when it arrived, and it was edible. The sausage, although nice, was not hot. The eggs were not fully cooked, and the beans were dry and overdone. The tea was not nice and left a bitter aftertaste. When we finished and departed, we thanked the staff anyway but was ignored. The plates and cups were disposable. It did not feel like there was any value for money here. Would not recommend.

Prime position in Teignmouth with great views. However, that’s where the good bits end. Overpriced food and drink which is off poor quality. £9 for a kids sausage (1) and chips far too many. £19 for an open steak sandwich and chips which had overcooked tough meat with so far too many sweet flavours making it taste quite sickly. £7 for a pint of Devon red cider, come on now, it’s Teignmouth not London. Overall really poor with absolutely zero value for money. I’m local to the area and will always try and support local but not when it’s presented like this!
