The Lobster Lounge & The Crab Shack — Restaurant in Teignbridge

We booked our table on Valentines Day for our son’s 19 birthday. It was pretty booked up obviously, but we did manage to get an early table at 16:30. We’d travelled down from Oxfordshire to see our son on his birthday and take him out, so wanted a special place to celebrate. We found the Lobster lounge tastefully quirky and very inviting. We were seated in a comfy corner away from the valentine diners. The gentleman who was front of house was friendly and enthusiastic and explained the menu. We were a little disappointed that my son and husband couldn’t have Porterhouse Steak to share or Lobster, which we were informed needed to have been ordered in advance. We went through the amazing choice of cocktails and drinks available and a great selection of tasty Tapas to excite the tastebuds, which didn’t disappoint. The boys decided on steaks and me being a veggie had the vegetarian sharing platter. The boys had Patatas bravas, Parmesan fries and wild mushrooms croquettes, which I too had on the platter, which I couldn’t manage on my own, so the boys were stealing bits off it. Oh wow, the food was amazing, such delicious food, great wine and cocktails with fantastic service in a lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere. We nearly had a cheaper meal than expected though, as they’d forgotten to put the wine on the bill and we hadn’t noticed, just thought it was extremely reasonable, luckily they’d noticed and rectified the bill, which actually was still very good considering how carefully everything had been executed. Thank you to the team for a wonderful experience. We’ll be back. Our son and his dad will be booking to try the Porterhouse...

Avoid at all costs Whilst away on a mini break my friend wanted to spoil us to a tapas meal. We arrived 5 minutes early . We were shown to the bar as waitress needed to clean our allocated table in the window. However a group of four people came in and sat at our table. When we asked what was going on we were simply told we would have to wait forty minutes. We said it was impossible, my friend had paid deposit of £30 this was appalling behaviour , the waitresses were very polite I must add. Manager Alex arrived solved the situation and gave us a new table . We ordered our meals . Hugely disappointed as our meals were not served at the same time the side dishes were handed out at least 15 mins I had my food before my companions ifelt awful sitting there just picking at my pasta dish .the food was minute not enough to satisfy a child .although clean and tasty the whole experience was a shambles . My friend did make it known to manager but he was extremely patronising stating tapas arrived different times he even suggested we were naive to fine dining laughable as we eat out at all establishments regularly. I have never left a bad review so please people believe me go elsewhere...

I booked a table online for 5 guests on the Monday for the Thursday as it was our last night of our holiday and also a special occasion, we was looking forward to it and planned our whole day around it making sure we was there on time and travelled from Paignton. When we got there I was asked if I had got a table booked which I said yes and told him my name , we was told to sit on a sofa which I originally thought was to sit on whilst our table was being prepared, we was handed a cocktail menu and was asked if we were eating, we were there to eat that's what we booked for, there were 4 guests that came in after us an had a table arranged for them, he eventually came back to us ,to take our order , we asked about a table an he replied this was where we would be sitting , practically on the floor! He told us there were no tables to cater for 5 guests ! Why give the option to book for 5 guests then ? Didn't seem bothered about trying to arrange something for us just said sorry about that , we decided to leave he said yeah I wouldn't want my kids eating at this table either , evening ruined because of the time we had no everywhere else to go because of the short notice...
