Not disabled friendly as there's steps to the beach everywhere so I couldn't even get close & no disabled parking even near the dog friendly end. The small dog friendly area from the lighthouse west to round to the river estuary (which goes past the RNLI & ferry slipway) was very mucky, lots of algae & sharp bits of shell about & get's deep quite quickly so very disappointing as not really worth visiting to play ball on the beach with the dogs. We had planned to play ball with the dogs on the beach but I couldn't get close enough on my mobility scooter for me to walk the last few metres on the beach on my crutches (which is what we do elsewhere) as there was steps everywhere & not much signage & couldn't find a disabled loo nearby. Upon a future visit I discovered the "Back beach" this a a gem of a place and sheltered as well as giving great views over the estuary and towards Shaldon.
Parking is yards away... pay and display
You have a choice to either face the sea or the estuary
There is plenty of space here to relax.
Back along the main sea front ....
You will find a pier but it has lost its charm and colour.
Along the prom there are cafes golf and a play area.
Also a green to sit picnic and play.

Read moreA lovely seaside town, largely unaffected by outright commercialisation, it has its own peir and a well kept prominard adorned with lots colourful flower beds , many with sculptures and modern artwork by local artists. Plenty of car parking is available in the upper car park and at Teignmouth railway station, plus there is additional car parking along by the lifeboat station, just two minutes walk to the town centre.
