We loved just about everything in here. Great Italian food, Master Foody Moody surprises with the best vegan food and smoothies (green borilla!). Best hummus i have ever had. The Caribbean food is tastes like you are visiting a friend, the Greek comes across a bit harried, but the attention to the food is great and this was also a good hummus (more sharp and garlicky, but good nonetheless). Lovely vintage bargains to be had upstairs and art on display. Last but not least: Gina's bakery gave us lovely bread and buns. Every bread was good, and the rye extra special, a savoury bread that goes perfectly with cheese and/or scrambled eggs. Lovely Katherina went above and beyond normal customer service, giving our daughter piano lessons on the market piano. We had a great time during many visits to the market, please still be quirky like this when we next come on holiday! Negatives: the coffee is so-so (but my husband is a barista so the bar is high) and the blowup sofa we bought lasted only two days...

The Old Kent Market is a charming little spot right next to Margate beach. It looks great from the outside, with a few benches out front to sit and enjoy the view. Inside, it’s spread over two floors, though I was expecting it to be a bit bigger. There are a few places to grab a bite — like a bakery, some takeaway stalls, and a quirky bus café. There’s a communal seating area in the middle, but it can feel a bit cramped during busy times. Lots of interesting little shops selling unique items like handmade jewellery and vintage-style clothing. Overall, a nice visit, but a bit disappointing as I was hoping for a bit more variety and space.

This pink building looked interesting from the outside, but it wasn't obvious what was inside so we went to look. There are outlets and stalls. On the top floor it's mainly crafts stores. On the bottom floor is a bus and various takeaway places that do things like pizza and poké. There's even a pub. Not much was open on a Tuesday afternoon in early June. We did want to try some goods from the bakery, but it seems to be closed and a new one is taking its place. Not sure if that means no more of the hot cross buns other reviewers mention.
