Decided to give this place another go. What a disappointment. The Sunday dinner is served in two parts. First is a plate with Meat a Yorkshire pudding and gravy. Accompanied by separate servings of vegetables. The Meat as well as being tough and the Yorkshire pudding and gravy were lukewarm. Now I appreciate that meat needs to be left to rest and that the Yorkshire’s will be batch cooked, but the gravy should have been piping hot and it wasn’t which indicates the whole plate had been sat on the side for a while. Also the gravy had lumps in it. See photo. I pointed these out to the waitress, stating that it was bad enough that they were using gravy granules, the least they could do was dissolve them properly. I was told that it was made from powder not granules. So I guess that’s alright then. £18.00 each for a lunch that was lukewarm with powdered gravy is totally unacceptable. The veg was hot hence the two stars.

I had a fantastic dining experience at Iris! The blue cheese arancini for starter was a standout with its well-balanced flavors and lovely texture. The confit duck leg for the main course and the golden snitch for dessert were equally delicious. The service from the staff was excellent. We will definitely be returning for more delicious meals! There was also a good atmosphere in the restaurant… it was busy but not too loud which a good selection of music playing.

The parfait was so soft and flavoursome, the blade of beef crumbled beautifully and was stuffed with flavour and the melting snitch at the end was a decadent treat! Could not fault a single thing, the service was amazing, could easily hear my partner and have a conversation without raising my voice. Great value for both 2 and 3 courses. Would recommend to everyone!

Yesterday we visited Iris for the first time for a Sunday dinner. We will certainly be regulars at Iris now as we had such a great experience.

I rang on the morning to book a table on the off chance of any cancellations as there was no availability via their online bookings system. The phone rang and then diverted to presumably the owner who was very friendly and kindly fitted us in.

The restaurant setting is really smart and clean. The food was delicious and excellent value. We all had Sunday dinners; roast beef, belly pork and a children’s chicken dinner. They were all served with a lovely assortment of vegetables and an extra gravy boat (we always love this as we aregravy fiends!). We all had desserts; sticky toffee pudding, chocolate millionaire shortbread and ice cream for our daughter.

Most of all though, the staff were all incredible. Every single team member was super friendly and attentive. They were so kind with out young daughter and really made us feel at home. The staff kindly brought the ice cream straight away to keep our daughter happy, much appreciated! It’s the little things like these which make such a huge difference.

We had such a good experience and cannot wait to go back. We’re visiting again on Friday for their Pie & Mash menu. This looks incredible value yet again, and from the photos we’ve seen, the pies look delicious. We can’t wait to go back!

A small suggestion for the owner (not a criticism at all) … it would be lovely for all the staff to have name badges. They were all so excellent and would have been lovely to give them a shoutout...

An okay experience, but wouldn’t return I visited this restaurant with a group of friends and, unfortunately, didn’t feel entirely comfortable from the start. The atmosphere was very quiet and felt a little awkward, more suited to couples than groups, which made us feel like we were unintentionally disturbing the peace. The décor seemed a bit cheaply done and lacked warmth, and the menu was quite limited—particularly disappointing if you're vegetarian, as options were very slim. That said, the food itself was okay, although I did experience a bit of stomach discomfort the following day can't say if it was due to the food or not. On a more positive note, the service was excellent. The two girls serving were very polite, friendly, and accommodating. We weren’t rushed at all, and they even let us stay well past closing without saying a word which we only realised afterwards. Pricing was mid-range, but overall, I found the experience average. With so many better options nearby, I probably...

I am slightly reluctant to review this restaurant, as I am sure it will influence more people to visit, then maybe I won't be able to get a table.

Visited Monday 8th Aug 2016 with a party of 8. None of us have been before so not sure what to expect, but we weren't disappointed! I will not talk you through the entire menu but we all had various different items of starter, main and sweet. Everything cooked to perfection, great care taken in presentation and a varied and interesting selection of good English food. Just to be sure that this was not a one off, my wife and myself re-visited yesterday evening, not expecting the same quality as our previous visit, we arrived late, in fact very late but the food service and experience was excellent. Please give this place a try and then review honestly. Take into account the price you are paying. This is 5 star food at 3 star prices. Please try them but not on a Monday (when you also get a free glass of wine) as they be too busy...
