I am not one for complaining but my experience at tet has left me appalled. We had booked and paid a £60 deposit for the new year’s eve set menu. This is extortionate for a deposit anyway however I was prepared to pay that little bit extra given the occasion, obviously expecting top quality. All waiting staff were kind on arrival and were quick to take our order, our starter then arrived and my partner noticed something crawling on our plate which was a little worm on the berries on the side. I then spoke to one of the waiters and explained, very politely as I am not one for complaining. They apologised and took the starter away. A lady who I believe was the manager then rushed back over with the starter, being very rude to us and argued that the worm was not on our food it was just on the side of the plate !! No apology at all, it was as if she was making out that we had overreacted with the situation and made this up. We would have been happy to stay if she had been apologetic. My partner and I then felt as if our night at tet had been ruined because of this and we just wanted to leave, we asked to speak to the manager again and were told several times that she was too busy to speak to us. So we took it upon ourselves to begin to leave, a young man then stopped us and was actually very apologetic. I said to him that I appreciated this however I just wanted to leave. He then assured me that I would get my deposit back but couldn’t give me it right then and there, as there would be cash missing from the till? He went on to assure me that I would receive a call from the restaurant the day after and a refund. Can I reinforce that he promised me this. Then 2 days later at around midnight I receive a text message from the manager on her personal mobile number?! how unprofessional, claiming that we had mistaken the worm on the berry for a pip and they won’t be refunding my deposit. How can one member of staff promise me one thing and the manager say the complete opposite? My partner and I are upset with the outcome of this as the matter could have been resolved if we had been treated with respect in the first place. We feel as though we have been ridiculed and ignored as we are a young couple, not being taken seriously. This is embarrassing customer service and we will not be returning.
I’d also like to add that we saw another couple complain while we were at the restaurant, this time about the price, I believe a charge was added on to their already very overpriced bill and they couldn’t understand why. The manager was also rude to them about this.
I suggest that tet rethink their attitude towards customers. As said previously, I addressed the issue with politeness and was left to feel...
Read moreI went to this restaurant tonight with my family for my grandma’s 81st birthday. When we looked at the menue it was very limited compared to other thai restaurants i had been to and very over priced. After making up our mind we was waiting for a long time before we were served and it took a very long time for our first set of drinks to be served. It also took a very long time to take out our meal order. We had to asked 3 times and it seemed as we were forgotten about. After a long wait for our starters, we came to notice that for the money the portions were very small compared to other thai restaurants we had previously been to. When our main course arrived my personal order was incorrect and when i asked for it to be corrected, the manager claimed there was nothing wrong even though my order came with tofu instead of chicken and penuts when I specifically asked for non ( this could be a concern for people with strong allergies and it was a good job that i only have a mild allergy and can cope) when insisting to get it corrected, the fornt of house waitress ( who i think is the manager ) cane across as rude. This also happened when I ordered rice with a noodle dish and she claimed “you dont need rice as this is a big portion of noodle” I personally found this insulting and got annoyed. When they brought my main course back they had removed the tofu from the previous portion and brought it back, still not removing the penut and cooking it without. The lady who brought it back had a rude face and slammed it back on the table, which I didn’t appreciate. My desert of iced cream came melted like soup. Over all it was over priced, our waitress was rude and insulting and i can guarantee i will not be...
Read moreWe walked in last night (Saturday night around 7pm) without booking. After negotiating my way through the flower archway,we were greeting by a waitress who managed to find a table for us. We were seated about 6 inches away from another couple who were probably enjoying their date night until we squeezed in next to them, it made private conversation very difficult. I ordered some spicy noodles with beef. 'Stir fried rice noodles with egg, bamboo shoot, fine beans, peppers, onion, mushroom chilli and basil leaves'. The menu suggested they should be very hot with 3 chilli's beside the description, while my wife went for the red curry ( one chilli heat rating). The food came in good time. The waiter presented my wife with her red curry and rice in a flourish and just left my noodle dish in the middle of the table.
It looked like a car crash!!
Everything seemed to be the same colour, even the cauliflower and broccoli were raw, yet brown. (Neither of which were mentioned in the description). I couldn't find or taste the chilli or the basil. There were no mushrooms. The beef was not fillet, it looked and tasted like minute steak, There was very little flavour and even less spice. My wife's dish, however, was very tasty and infinitely more spicy than mine. If her dish wasn't so nice, I would have given a 1 star rating. Will not be going back in a hurry, very...
