I was utterly surprised by the quality of the food here - tip-top, incredibly rich in flavour. Finding the place we last visited closed down, we chanced on this one, reserving that afternoon and only finding once inside they didn't serve beer (and didn't allow us to bring any in)... but that's really a minimal downside. It's large and open-plan, rather like a school dining hall... but not really noisy - most diners sat quietly, enjoying their meal or keeping noise to a minimum. We were probably the only "white group" there, so it was pleasing to notice it filled up pretty quickly, and seemed to be a hit with Asian families, which is always a good sign. And with just reason... I can't recall the name of the meal I ordered, but it came with boiled egg that really did set it off well. The sauce was rich and complex (finding out later it comprised of roasting nuts), far deeper than I'd encountered in other diners, and the chicken had been well seasoned in the sauce, penetrating deeply. It wasn't a large bowl, but was certainly quality over quantity. Service was top-notch; the waitress was very attentive, reappearing at several intervals to check up on us. Other than the beer thing, can't fault it - and many drinkers in our party all agreed they'd happily go dry for however long it took to have that meal, such was the quality. Deffo intending to return!

HONESTLY DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! I WOULD GIVE A ZERO STAR RATING IF POSSIBLE! I never usually write google reviews but it is most definitely needed with this place. So much improvement is needed and I am shocked about my experience. I ordered the royale chicken burger (shown in the picture) and the chicken tasted like absolute plastic it was so chewy and hard! Definitely tasted like frozen packet stuff and tasted like a range of meats put into one patty. I also made the staff aware of the food not tasting nice and the boss approached me on leaving asking if anything could help and after I said a refund as I was fully put off my food and did not want no more, he then ignored me and walked away as he was not interested in losing money. The atmosphere in this place is also very off and there is a bad vibe. The staff seem like they are treated awfully by the boss and this appeared to me which was uncomfortable and not very nice to see. I am not usually one to complain and try many restaurants, this is the only place I feel like I have to write this google review on as I do not recommend this place one bit!!! Update- restaurant did contact me multiple times to take the review down. Full refund was given and offer to come back for a meal on the house however will not be returning as I am fully put off and nor deleting review as it is fully honest.

Absolutely fantastic ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Just left the royal after visiting on a Saturday afternoon, you can park at the McDonald’s car park, it does say 20 minutes on the signs but you check-in when entering the restaurant to get two hours free. From entering the restaurant you get excellent service, polite and helpful without being intrusive. The music is at a perfect background level. However the star of the show is the food, absolutely delicious. The paneer tikka is in the words of Guy Fieri, a flavour town of spices. However the Lamb Karahi On The Bone is spectacular, it’s the first time I’ve come across a curry with meat actually on the bone! It’s not a lamb shank, it’s small pieces of melt in the mouth lamb with a wonderful sauce. My wife had the chicken karahi which was also lovely, both the naan 🫓 and paratha were perfect. The gulab jalam desert with ice cream was lovely, didn’t know what to expect but a must try. I’ve read a few reviews that have been negative, now although I believe everyone’s opinion is equally valid, I don’t believe take-away reviews are fair when it comes to restaurants. Definitely the best restaurant in the area, right up there with the Indian streetery in Birmingham which is mouthwatering when it comes to food. Our new go to restaurant in Walsall

I saw this place from a passing glance to tesco and let me tell you about this hidden gem.

Firstly the staff, these guys and girls are great! The manager (I think, he's the guy in a suit) is also very friendly and accommodating. Always happy to help and give their advice on the dishes when asked.

We sat down for a takeaway order, but the waiter still brought us water. I only say this to show that they're customer focused and kind in their reception of anyone dining or buying.

As for the food:

I go here regularly now. I went with my family and got a tawah. It was filling, spectacular and had the right balance of variety and portion.

The flavours if the food is always immaculate. Certain dishes completely remind me of the motherland. And its consistent, wether we go in the afternoon for a family meal or a night time takeaway. It always tastes fresh and delicious.

The prices are fine too, not too expensive but cheaper than certain high end Asian places. But in all honesty and not trying to be bias, the price per flavour ratio is better here so its worth going here instead and spending a little less for a lot more flavour.

The parking could ne an issue if it's busy but there's so many parking areas in the surrounding area that it has never really bothered me.

The atmosphere is great, the song selection is your typical Asian music, the decorations and ambiance is clean and the seating is comfortable. It's not really a private spot but I do see that have barriers so I'm sure they can put them up when asked for those who wear veils or generally want modesty and privacy.

Overall this place is great and worth...

I came here a couple of weeks ago, and honestly, the vest customer service I've ever received in any restaurant! That's not even an exaggeration. It truly is the best customer service I've received. As soon as we went in the Manager/Owner was coming around to each table and asking if anyone drives because we can get free parking through the restaurant. Unfortunates I had already paid my parking before going into the restaurant but I know for next time! But just the fact that he was making sure all his customers are getting free parking was awesome! Another great thing about the manager was that he was so attentive towards each customer of his. We had a little child with us who has allergies and we let him know that when he came to get our order. He literally went out of his way to make sure she gets egg free food! No one has ever cared that much before in a restaurant and it's always been tricky for us to find her egg free options. In royal punjab it was easy and that was the one thing that stuck with me the most. Also! The interior is great! Very beautiful! And the food was delicious. Another thing about the food is that it doesn't overly fill you up, it's just the right amount of food. After our meal we even got a complimentary kheer from the Manager, which was so sweet. This is the first time we went to Royal Punjab but it honestly felt like we went to eat at a family's restaurant. Amazing Food, Amazing Experience and Most of all Amazing Customer Service!!! I highly recommend this place...

Very disappointed to write this review despite the food taste being spicy but good.

We ordered the food first time, a few weeks back. The food no doubt was tasty but had tons of oil floating on the top. I kindly request the owner by sending him an email instead of leaving an honest review, to advise the same and hoped that something will be done in order to protect people's health. Oil is important part of cooking but I believe that it shouldn't be floating on the top. I drained about just under half a bowl from two curries.

When we gave another chance yesterday, unfortunately it was very disappointing to see that no thoughts have been given to our suggestion. The oil was slightly higher than last time and we were able to drain about half a small bowl this time. I can't pick out any other faults, but only due to such a high fat content, I will not recommend it. Yes, we are having take away and it's meant to be unhealthy, but how can we eat fried foods if they're drenched in oul. Similarly, how can you taste food when it's full of oil. I will also recommend to specially mention spice level as its too hot if you eat mild food.

My other complaint is about not answering the phone call at the restaurant. I tried to call 7 times yesterday but no one answered the call.

Unfortunately for me, I would not like to have a further meal out purely for the reasons mentioned above. I wish the management had taken some consideration...
