I saw this place from a passing glance to tesco and let me tell you about this hidden gem.
Firstly the staff, these guys and girls are great! The manager (I think, he's the guy in a suit) is also very friendly and accommodating. Always happy to help and give their advice on the dishes when asked.
We sat down for a takeaway order, but the waiter still brought us water. I only say this to show that they're customer focused and kind in their reception of anyone dining or buying.
As for the food:
I go here regularly now. I went with my family and got a tawah. It was filling, spectacular and had the right balance of variety and portion.
The flavours if the food is always immaculate. Certain dishes completely remind me of the motherland. And its consistent, wether we go in the afternoon for a family meal or a night time takeaway. It always tastes fresh and delicious.
The prices are fine too, not too expensive but cheaper than certain high end Asian places. But in all honesty and not trying to be bias, the price per flavour ratio is better here so its worth going here instead and spending a little less for a lot more flavour.
The parking could ne an issue if it's busy but there's so many parking areas in the surrounding area that it has never really bothered me.
The atmosphere is great, the song selection is your typical Asian music, the decorations and ambiance is clean and the seating is comfortable. It's not really a private spot but I do see that have barriers so I'm sure they can put them up when asked for those who wear veils or generally want modesty and privacy.
Overall this place is great and worth...
Read moreI came here a couple of weeks ago, and honestly, the vest customer service I've ever received in any restaurant! That's not even an exaggeration. It truly is the best customer service I've received. As soon as we went in the Manager/Owner was coming around to each table and asking if anyone drives because we can get free parking through the restaurant. Unfortunates I had already paid my parking before going into the restaurant but I know for next time! But just the fact that he was making sure all his customers are getting free parking was awesome! Another great thing about the manager was that he was so attentive towards each customer of his. We had a little child with us who has allergies and we let him know that when he came to get our order. He literally went out of his way to make sure she gets egg free food! No one has ever cared that much before in a restaurant and it's always been tricky for us to find her egg free options. In royal punjab it was easy and that was the one thing that stuck with me the most. Also! The interior is great! Very beautiful! And the food was delicious. Another thing about the food is that it doesn't overly fill you up, it's just the right amount of food. After our meal we even got a complimentary kheer from the Manager, which was so sweet. This is the first time we went to Royal Punjab but it honestly felt like we went to eat at a family's restaurant. Amazing Food, Amazing Experience and Most of all Amazing Customer Service!!! I highly recommend this place...
Read moreVery disappointed to write this review despite the food taste being spicy but good.
We ordered the food first time, a few weeks back. The food no doubt was tasty but had tons of oil floating on the top. I kindly request the owner by sending him an email instead of leaving an honest review, to advise the same and hoped that something will be done in order to protect people's health. Oil is important part of cooking but I believe that it shouldn't be floating on the top. I drained about just under half a bowl from two curries.
When we gave another chance yesterday, unfortunately it was very disappointing to see that no thoughts have been given to our suggestion. The oil was slightly higher than last time and we were able to drain about half a small bowl this time. I can't pick out any other faults, but only due to such a high fat content, I will not recommend it. Yes, we are having take away and it's meant to be unhealthy, but how can we eat fried foods if they're drenched in oul. Similarly, how can you taste food when it's full of oil. I will also recommend to specially mention spice level as its too hot if you eat mild food.
My other complaint is about not answering the phone call at the restaurant. I tried to call 7 times yesterday but no one answered the call.
Unfortunately for me, I would not like to have a further meal out purely for the reasons mentioned above. I wish the management had taken some consideration...
