Wells Recreation Ground — Attraction in Wells

If you need to chill out, but your children have turned into meat fireworks, then Wells recreation ground is an ideal place. If you can focus their energy onto doing something intelligible with regular words then there is plenty of equipment to climb, swing, bounce, balance and play on.

If however they just need to go whoosh-snaggle-fnang-twang-squeeeeeee-plunk! then there is a huge area of soft grass you can place them on and then stand well back.

Brilliant place for children to have fun and burn off some energy. With Swings, roundabout, giant seesaw and more. The big feature of the park is the castle which has plenty of climbing places, a rope walk and slide, great place to stimulate the imagination. Plenty of space to relax and have a picnic. Nice facility for trips with children and lots of green space around to run around on, very near to the shops, Bishops Palace etc. Hopefully Wells will do something with the huge rather sad Bishops Barn which sits empty next to the swings... bring your own picnic as there isn't anywhere to buy a drink here... at least there are loos in the corner where there play ground was situated.
