Booked online last minute in the car after watching the carnival in Glastonbury on a Saturday night so I accept it was reasonably late to eat at 9.15 but felt rushed and so unwelcome we left rapidly after our meal , didn’t bother with desert. To start with as we had our starters taken off the table the main had arrived so already I realised we were in for a rushed service. Then halfway through two of us still eating the waiter ask if we would like dessert and if I would like a take away box, I politely explained I’m still eating. He then hovered around the table and came over a 2 nd and 3 rd time asking if we would like dessert and started clearing the plates on the table , this time my wife had to tell him that I was still eating , hovered again , ask if we wanted dessert and said the coffee machine was turned off , so no coffee. Then the music was turned down ( biggest hint that they want you gone ). After feeling unwelcome whilst he packed his bag to go home we ask for the bill , It was pointed out to me that there was no service charge on the bill , a tip is always given by myself if the service was good , this was far from a good service. We live locally to wells but will not be returning to Ask in the future . Came out of the restaurant after spending a significant amount of money feeling totally disappointed and annoyed, terrible customer service. Word of advice , please don’t take bookings if you don’t want the customers there a hour later , if you want to be closed up by 10 then don’t take a booking for a 3 course meal at 9.15...

Went to eat here today, asked for a table for two, was told (pretty rudely must I add) that "all tables were booked all day because it's bank holiday Sunday and don't bother with anywhere else as they will be too".....fine, that would have been understandable if the three times we walked past this establishment, it was full, but it wasn't, it was almost empty each time we walked past at different parts of the day!
I knew he had lied to us and this wasn't a case of 'a few people not turning up for bookings'! There was about 15 free tables inside, that is not even including all the empty tables outside!!
I feel totally humiliated! My partner and I are left feeling as though we are not good enough for your stuffy chain restaurant and it has really upset me today 😔
You should be ashamed of that out-dated, judgemental behavior that was barely even acceptable before the film 'Pretty Woman' came out! And yes you made a HUGE mistake!

Read moreEvery time I visit I'm made to feel like everything is too much trouble. On my most recent visit there was something wrong with every meal. One of the pizzas was missing ingredients and the cheese was so bad on the pizzas that two of my teenagers were discussing whether it was real, vegan or actual plastic. Neither of them were able to finish despite barely eating at school all day.
The child's meal had an atrociously mean looking starter with warm crudités and miserable bread sticks, the tortellini wasn't cooked properly and remained cold in the middle, and most of the addons for the ice cream were unavailable.
Literally everything was sub standard from the staff's attitude to the food. It's been getting worse every time I visit but the most recent trip means I won't be returning. They don't honour any of the wider offers with ASK and is therefore always over priced, especially given the poor quality of the food and the incompetent way it is served. It's a shame Wells has ASK as it means other, better generic Italian chains won't open up. This place has become woeful and isn't worth the disappointment and upset that leaves a bad taste that lingers long after the actual unsatisfactory...
