Keeps running out of the basic foods like BREAD, BEANS & JACKETS!! AT LUNCH TIME!….Ok I’ll grab a soup, sorry ā€œ NO BREADā€ only a cold garlic slice, and that will cost you extra!!! It’s winter, Soup is served with a hot crusty roll or bread! Not a slice of cold garlic bread! All three times we have visited and menus on the large board are either wiped clean in front of you or staff tell you no longer available! We had family down from Oxford and had enough of your excuses this time. Never again. The rude manager who said to us, when we left ā€œI’ve never seen you in here before!!ā€ Please see receipts, in photos from my bankā€ do better if you are independent as you keep banging on about to me. Please don’t make your problems, mine!

The Good Earth vegetarian restaurant offers a wide variety of delicious and healthy dishes, all made with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a wholesome meal. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and Jackie, one of the owners, couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. Overall, the experience at this cafe is not only satisfying for the taste buds, but also leaves you feeling very happy!!! Highly recommend for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike!

Great options and variable menu which changes throughout the week. Fantastic food. Some of it is cooked to order but most of it is already made waiting to be served and isn’t always hot, but still tasty nevertheless. Service was friendly, however you do have to queue up like it’s a school dinner with a tray. Building is quirky with seats and chairs here and there, best to go when it’s quiet and not on the weekend if you’re bringing friends. I absolutely love the fact it’s vegetarian. I can see why it’s a top spot in Somerset.

You have to commend how well run this cafe/restaurant is and it's great to see they are always so busy. The setup is a little strange for first time customers - you will count numerous guests wandering aimlessly with a tray of food, unable to find a table. Perhaps their system could be explained in some way, before guests order their food. The service style is alike a canteen, but with service from a very friendly team. You order at a counter bar, have your food plated in front of you and pay at the end of the line. It's simple, relatively cheap and overall very wholesome. I'm a huge good earth fan, but struggle a little with their consistency. One day you'll have the best meal anywhere in Wells, the other, not so much. Unfortunately, during this visit for valentines lunch, the food was a little underwhelming. The soup was delicious, however, the Sri Lankan curry we had was incredibly oily and left a sickening feeling afterwards. The cake was rather dry and consisted of a rather small portion.

In summary, would definitely recommend giving this beautiful location a try - the positives far outweigh the negatives 90%...

Although the food was very good sadly initial service not so much. Ignored by a woman behind counter in entry. However, this might have been because the company employs those with learning disabilities, which is a great initiative. This was however ruined when after asking a young lady directions to the toilets, three young employees, two females and one male began giggling. One I heard to say "she'll never find her way with those direction's". The young lady who I had asked clearly had learning disabilities. Being a volunteer for Unpaid Carers and a full time unpaid carer myself, I found this experience very upsetting. There is no point in helping those with disabilities of any kind if you are just ticking boxes and have untrained staff clearly not behind the scheme. I thought Somerset generally as being a...

We were recommended to try The Good Earth in Wells but the name chimed perfectly with our love of a veggie restaurant of the same name in Leicester, which we've been to regularly when there.

The Good Earth, Wells is excellent! You order you food and drinks as you go in, pay, then choose a table and they bring the food out to you when it's ready.

Vegetable Jalfrezi and a good salad went down very well. It was delicious!!! Staff pleasant and happy to help. Good website and as it occupies so much space inside and outside they say there isn't any need to book.

Comfortable, airy place, well-recommended and definitely 5 stars without a doubt. We're what is now called Flexitarian but love veggie food. You need to try this place, I think you won't be...
