I recently visited this establishment, having heard positive things about their diverse menu options. As someone with a gluten intolerance, I was reassured by the staff's initial understanding and was keen to try what I believed would be a safe dining experience. Unfortunately, the reality was far from what I had expected. Despite my explicit request for a gluten-free meal and the staff's assurances, I was disheartened to find that my dish was contaminated with gluten. This not only displayed a lack of care and attention but also posed a serious risk to my health. Upon discovering the issue, I immediately alerted the staff and management, I am expecting a swift and appropriate response but nothing yet . Given the potential health implications of such oversights, I feel it is essential for future patrons, especially those with specific dietary requirements, to be aware of my experience. While I appreciate that mistakes can happen, it is the responsibility of any reputable dining establishment to uphold food safety standards and respond adequately to such incidents. Regrettably, this experience has left me sick and with a sense of disappointment and concern, and I urge the restaurant to review their practices to ensure the wellbeing of all customers. As it stands, I am hesitant to recommend this restaurant to others, particularly those with dietary restrictions or allergies, until significant improvements are made in their food handling and...
Read moreLet me say I wish I had a bigger appetite. The halloumi fries are to die for as of the wings. I have the tropical ones the burgers oh boy there were three of us and we each had a different one and they were all delicious my wife and I shared a portion of dirty fries With bird ends they were to die for and to be honest somebody with a smaller appetite that would make a meal the food was absolutely amazing. We were attempted to order some extras. I need the Mac and cheese because we’ve heard that that was good, however we’d also heard that the portions were large And we thought we could always order extra once we had got the food after seeing the food when it arrived there was no way we were going to eat more. My son-in-law birthday was is so jealous of Wells because we have really good Eateries I had the unfiltered local lager which was absolutely delicious. My son-in-law was on Coke as he had to drive back to Weston. My wife had gin and tonic. all I can say is my wife was disappointed that she was so full she couldn’t fit in a desert my son-in-law from Essex. Can’t wait to get down and try this if you’re in Wells book up because it gets busy and have yourself a good burger some good beer, you’re well looked after unlike the big cities there is no service and the staff can’t do...
Read moreFirstly and most importantly: the burgers were great, really tasty, and the dirty fries were again tasty and satisfactory portions. The service was poor in some ways though. I called in the afternoon to book a table for myself, my son and his girlfriend who is visiting from Australia. The girl I spoke to took my email address which was a bit weird. When I asked her why she needed it, she said "in case we need to get in touch with you", even though the reservation was for later that day (why not ask for a number instead?). When we arrived they had no knowledge of the reservation. It didn't matter practically as there was plenty of space, but no attempt to account for how that had happened nor apologise. Then when we had finished our food we were asked if we wanted anything more. We declined and chatted as a group for a little longer, whereupon one of the waitresses came over again and asked us again if we wanted anything else. It was incredibly pointedly to try and get us to leave and was extremely rude. The time was maybe 8.35pm and they were closing at 9pm. I then went up to pay and said "I'll pay then since you clearly want us to leave." Again no response nor apology for making the ending so unwelcoming....
