Irina Neacșu’s work will be on display in William King Museum of Art’s Panoramic Gallery from November 9, 2023 – February 11, 2024. Irina Neacșu is a designer and a botanical artist, member of the American Society of Botanical Artists and founder of the Romanian Society of Botanical Artists. Her projects cover a wide range of creative fields, from painting and graphics to art teaching, applied arts and interior design. Irina Neacșu started as an artist in the field of interior design, where her name became an international brand, with exhibitions at various fairs and events throughout Europe. In the year 2016 Irina moved from the capital city to Brașov, where she feels closer to nature. Here, she opened the Irina Neacșu Studio then founded an art school, Cembra School of Botanical Art and Design, where she teaches courses and workshops in painting, drawing, textile art or design and encourages creative knowledge inspired by nature and heritage. Through these projects, Irina hopes to bring together a local community of artists who share the same values based on sustainability and interactive development. To see more of her work, check out her website www.irinaneacsu.com.

Drove from Richlands to the William King museum in Abington Va and the trip was well worth the visit. Each room has a variety of exhibits. One room is reminiscent of prior times displaying pottery, furniture, paintings, and much more. We moved onto what I call the Erte Art Deco sales poster room. The posters display ads for cars, resturants, etc. One room contains contemporary art exhibits highlighting the local area. The upper level displays other artists including urban and graphic art. What a great visit and I truly enjoyed it.

This is an amazing resource for this region. The museum offers incredible rotating exhibits that showcase wonderful artists - regional and beyond - and allow for a true celebration of art and culture our society needs. They offer tons of activities for all ages, including an Easter egg hunt that we participated in today. With tons of prizes and incentives to encourage kids to embrace the arts from a young age, this totally free museum is one that deserves the highest accolades.

I surprised my husband, Clay, with a trip to Abingdon for his 60th birthday. We stayed at the charming 'A Tailor's Lodging' in downtown Abingdon and we walked everywhere - to the Barter Theater, museums, shopping and dining. We biked on the awesome Creeper Trail too and accessed the trail easily and within walking distance from our room.

We especially enjoyed visiting the beautiful William King Museum of Art. Ms. Sandra Darden was an awesome hostess and she shared a lot of history about the Museum and the exhibits.

Abingdon is a historical gem, like a small Savannah and Charleston. We want to return to visit...
