Was here for the Eric Johnson concert on 9/16/2023. Eric Johnson and his band were magnificent. All Keswick staff were friendly, however, the evening was quite ruined by a group of extremely rude old guys sitting in the back right section; this group of jerks were loudly carrying-on throughout the entire show, yelling over Eric and his band while playing and/or talking.
I personally approached Keswick security staff two times in-request that the rude group of drunks be asked to settle-down. I witnessed several other concert-goers also approach Keswick staff regarding the rude individuals. The Keswick staff stood-by idly like wimps and allowed a group of drunk loudmouths to ruin a concert for many others AND DISRESPECT THE MASTERFUL ERIC JOHNSON. I will never return to The Keswick again. The venue is extremely dated as-well; I understand the maintenance of classic aesthetics, however, the seats are incredibly uncomfortable, ripped, wonky and falling-apart.
Other miscellaneous complaints: bathrooms can't be up a flight of steps! How are disabled/injured folk supposed to get to the bathrooms.
Send ticket holders/purchasers their parking pass in-advance of the show; very annoying, antiquated method of having customers obtain the parking pass from the box office and needing to walk back to their car. Very...
Read moreOn Friday, May 9, 2025, I went to the Keswick for the first time to see a lecture on the cosmos by Professor Brian Cox. I didn't mind parking in upper jabip and walking to the venue. Pretty little town. What I did mind was the absolute rudeness of the audience. People talking, chattering, laughing, getting up, climbing over, going in and out to the bar, drinking obviously overmuch, and leaving their garbage and bottles on the seats and floors. I barely heard anything Professor Cox said, and I had been so looking forward to this lecture. As a 71 year old, I have over those years, been to my share of many raucus concerts, danced and sang wildly, thrown down whatever alcohol was present, toked the random bone on the way. So, as a music venue, I imagine the Keswick is ideal. But, for a more serious, interesting event, I think a modicum of dignity and courtesy to the speaker and audience would be expected and appreciated. For me, I felt my time and money were wasted by the establishments lack of adjusting to the nature of the event. Basically, I was surrounded by a bunch of inconsiderate drunks. I might return one day, for a concert style event. Probably not. Certainly not for a speaking event. Guess I'll catch Dr....
Read moreWe loved seeing Vic DiBitteto here on a Friday night. There is plenty of entertainment and dinner/bar options around that collaborate with the theater to extend the night afterwards too. The seats, however, were my only issue. Since it is a very old theater that hasn't been renovated much, the seats are very close together, very noisy, and uncomfortable. There is little leg room, and you're practically shoulder to shoulder with the people next to you. Also, the seats are not staggered to provide windows for the guests, so if somebody tall sits right in front of you one or two rows down, forget about seeing the stage. Keep this in mind when choosing seats online. The staff was very helpful in getting us to our seats but the organization after the show was chaos. The bathrooms are upstairs and very clean and the decoration is very neat with the posters of upcoming shows displayed along the walls. We got lucky and found free street parking right in front of the theater next to the entrance. The website says there is a parking lot behind the theater, but we couldn't find it, and other reviews mention it being difficult to find as well. Plan plenty of time ahead of your venue to accommodate...
