Tried to cancel my membership with Ray since i have been planning to move and i now realized I got duped into signing a 2 year contract for both me and my sister,

that Georgia Fitness is making difficult to leave.

2 months ago I got talked into $1 sign-on special + $20 a month; & I was never verbally told by Bill that I was signing both my 17 year old sister & I each into a 2 year contract

If I would've known that up front I would've never signed on. I was led to believe I was signing up for month to month contract for us both but instead was signed up for a 2 year contract.

On my end; I should've looked more in detail at the small "24" on the contract that they point out to me when TRYING to cancel my membership.

They make it extraordinarily easy to sign on and incredibly hard to cancel if you sign into a a contract.

They wouldn't even let me freeze me account until I can get the "PROOF that I'm moving"

And if I tried to cancel for any other reason I would have to pay $40 for every month of that 2year lease I signed for me AND my younger sister.

I'm ready to leave this gym. Waste of time & money . Be aware of their sign...

new review Since my last review Ray has made a great effort to contact me in order to clear up any confusion and to help fix my issues I had with the gym. Ray seems to be alot more professional and respectful than I initially thought, it was made clear to me that he truly wishes that all of his members are happy with their membership and feel respected. I really appreciate the effort Ray put into making sure that our issues were resolved. While this gym still may not be the gym for my personally, I have to commend Ray for his effort and professionalism. I am only keeping my old review as part of this one to show full transparency and the issues that Ray fixed. I wish you guys the best in business. Thank you.

They still charge my card despite a stop payment being in place. My last review was deleted by them. PREDATORY!!! I was a member of this gym and unwittingly was signed up for a 2 year contract. The person at the front desk did not mention or warn me that if i tried to terminate early, you would have to pay hundreds of dollars to pay off the majority of the remaining balance!! Later, i looked back and it was nestled in the contract multiple pages in. When i moved, they told me it had to be 50 miles away or more to cancel and there is still a huge cancellation fee. I just kept having to pay and then finally went back months later to try again and they told me their policy changed? Now it was only 30 miles (i qualified for that) and a $60 fee. I still had to pay the yearly renewal fee and another month after that as well! $135 total. In this day and age, it should not be this difficult to quit a gym! The staff was very rude about it and talked down to me quote "gyms are businesses too". Very very predatory contracts and sales staff. Stay...
