I use to LOVE Castle Nail Spa...All my visits last summer were good. YESTERDAY 6-10-2019, it was a different story! I came in to get a basic pedicure (the $27 one) with regular paint and to get my natural nails manicured and done in dip powder. First i'll talk about my pedicurist Katie. Katie introduced herself and was really nice and did a really good job. She asked me what services I wanted and I pointed to the $27 basic pedicure. She proceeded and did my pedicure. Not long after Katie started, a manicurist came over and started my manicure. According to my receipt, her name is Phuong Le. She basically just dipped my finger tips in water and started trimming my hang nails; no soaking or anything. She asked if I wanted my nails trimmed b/c a few of them were shorter, so I told her yes, a little trim. Once she was done with dipping my nails, she proceeded to use her small golden drill bit to shape the nails around my cuticle!!!!! She kept hitting my skin and some areas she broke the skin. She also used the drill to "trim" my nails, as if I had tips applied. She made my longer nails super short and was rushing through it. It seems this isn't the proper way to file nails being that she had a nail file in her kit. After she finished doing the clear coat, she left to rush to a group of ladies that came in. She didn't come back to finish up my manicure nor to clean up the dip. There was powder all over my sore cuticles. Katie, my pedicurist had to finish up and did the arm massage and heated towel wraps. I asked her and the front desk guy about my cuticles and the powder still on my skin and they nodded it off and said it comes off. Typically I tip my nail techs very well but I only tipped $10 which I hope only went to Katie. My finger nails look a mess! The nails look very plumped up and too thick! My cuticles are are beat up and sore, and don't even look like I got a manicure!! So when bill comes, my pedicure has an added $10 on it for a 10 minute massage. I NEVER asked for anything extra!! I asked for the basic pedicure and I assumed that is what I was getting!! Doing extra things that is not asked for and charging me is stealing. Its deceptive and not cool! Even though Katie was nice and all my other experiences from last year were good, this last time there has rubbed me the wrong way. I will NOT be coming back and I'll make sure to tell all my friends that come here to stay away as well. Oh and see the pic below of how my...
Read moreAVOID ANGELA BY ALL MEANS. i came in on a Wednesday morning, which is one of their 20% off days. i typically ask for nicole ( she is amazing but slow) but i opted for someone random this day. asked for a green tea gel pedicure. the remote to operate the chair was greasy and nasty-- it needed to be disinfected. i didnt use it and had to sit in an awkward position the whole time. the blue pillows that sit in the massage chairs had pet hair on it, i had to throw it onto the chair next to me. angela did the WHOLE service with cuticle cutters only-- no other nail grooming tools. i thought every time i jumped from the pain or pulled my foot back she would get the hint but obviously not. also to mention, the cuticle trimmer was not sanitized. she had tools hanging in her storage box. the drill bit she used to take off the gel polish was up way too high, also causing me to jump from the pain but all she did was readjust my foot. never changed the speed of the drill. i've been coming here since Fall 2023-- i get the same services every time. when it was time to pay, she RUNS up to the front, even though there's a reception person there, rings me up for the wrong prices. on their 20% day, i should pay $58 before tip but was rang up for 62. after i corrected her, she printed another receipt with the correct pricing. the person who normally is up there always gives an itemized receipt but angela rung up a flat $25 fee on top of the regular pedicure price (PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR CHARGES). the rest of the staff must've sensed my frustration bc they started coming up to me at the front, giving me compliments and smiling in my face but not one manager checked on me during the service, or even offered me a drink, unlike the service some of the other clientele received that morning but i think you get where im going. i dont like shady business practices. i dont like disregard for customer's safety and comfort. i've been going against my better judgement for months-- the first red flag was they never give me all of the items listed on the menu that the pedicure is supposed to come with. (the green tea pedi is supposed to get a green tea bag soak-- I NEVER GET IT). same with the aloe vera pedi. but tried to hang in there because this place is close to my house but i wont...
Read moreYesterday, was 4th of July. At around 8:30pm last night I decided I wanted to get my nails done. A lot of businesses are not even open on the 4th of July, and if they are, they usually close early so that people can enjoy the holiday. So I did a Google search for Nail salons, near me, and “open now”. The 1st salon on the list showed that they were open til 11pm, but the holiday might affect that. Turns out they were actually closed due to the holiday. The 2nd salon I called showed to be open on Google, but I figured they would be closed. So I was surprised when they answered the phone, and even more surprised when I said I wanted to come in now, it was around 8:45pm at this time, and they said “come on!” I got there about 9:15pm, and they said salon was winding down to close, I think there were 2 customers there and they were finished right after I sat down. The maintenance guy was cleaning and the few other nail techs were leaving for the night…EXCEPT FOR BEBE AND VICKY! Bebe was doing my pedicure and Vicky was doing my powder nails. I told Bebe I was surprised they didn’t close early, for the holiday. She said, we were supposed to close at 7pm. I didn’t even call the salon until 8:45pm, so technically they should’ve been long gone. So, shortly after arriving, we were the only 3 left in the salon. It would NOT have surprised me, if they had felt put out or annoyed that they were having to stay late on a holiday…but they didn’t act like it. Bebe and Vicky were friendly, professional, and accommodating, and not once made me feel like I was causing them to be there when the salon should have been closed. I even tried to tell them not to worry about doing all the steps of the mani/pedi because I felt bad that they were staying late because of me. But they said no, we’re not going to do less, or rush…and they didn’t. They both did a fantastic job! My nails and toes looked perfect. So I wanted to say thank you to Bebe and Vicky, for doing a great job and also for their exceptional customer service. I highly recommend both...
