Recently had a birthday brunch with 20 people at this location on a Saturday. We made a reservation two weeks in advance and were told we wouldn’t be seated until the entire party was there. I assumed this was because the place was very busy and didn’t want to assign us servers that could be helping other customers.
The place was dead. There was maybe one or two parties of two there when we arrived. There were more of us than the headcount of the entire restaurant but the hostess still refused to seat us. Once we were finally seated, we realized that there would only be one server for all 20 of us. It was chaotic, to say the least.
We were told that brunch comes with three mimosas included. Server brings out champagne and you make your own with the delicious juice bar. Great! Unfortunately, each glass of the first round of prosecco came out with ice in it, which means it’s watered down. Gross! We were careful to ask that no ice be added to the remaining glasses.
Most of us never received the third mimosa - no biggie. We brought our own cake thinking it would be brought out ready to serve to our guests. Nope! It was handed back to us in the box. Thanks for nothing.
At this point, nothing else unusual could happen, except the automatic 20% tip.

Read moreWhere to begin? My friends (5 of us in total) and I had a reunion planned. We had been looking forward to this reunion for at least 3 days. We get to blue Mesa Grill and are greeted by a hostess that looks at us and walks away. She finally returns with another member of her team and says “I’ll just put these people over there.” Although this wasn’t ideal, I didn’t mind. We sit down, and look over the menu in high anticipation. We were all looking to fly business class with their tequila flights. We wait for about 10 minutes, not even with water provided to us. After another five minutes, the hostess returns and says our waiter would be with us soon. We continue to wait and nothing. We weren’t able to even fly coach. What a disappointment. After over 20 minutes, we finally decide to leave while several employees standing by the bar just watched us leave without saying a word, that’s what hurts the most. We walked across the street to yard house and were greeted with smiles and seated immediately. The drinks were flowing, the food was fantastic. We spent several hundred dollars and we were treated with dignity and R E S P E C T. I’ll conclude by saying anyone that anyone looking to go to blue Mesa should just walk to yard house or any of the 100 other places around and not waste your time. Sincerely, Just...
Read moreWe had not eaten at Blue Mesa in awhile, and this was our first time eating at the Addison location. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable and we had a very pleasant dinner. I was impressed with the variety and numerous choices of dishes offered on the menu, including standard Tex-Mex fare to slightly more elevated dishes (ie. blue crab and shrimp enchilada). Everthing, from the complementary white and blue corn chips and sweet potato chips on the table with the chunky red and smokey chipotle green salsa to our entrée dishes, was very tasty and well prepared. Our waiter, Nick was very friendly and chatty. He was knowledgeable about the menu choices and helpful with the kitchen when we asked about substituting a combination of the enchiladas. He was also attentive and considerate enough to catch us outside the restaurant, before we got to our car, to bring us the "doggie-bag" of food we had forgotten on the table. My only slight disappointment was with the top shelf skinny marquerita which may have been a little light on the tequila. The price point of the food was very reasonable. There is ample free parking in the outside lot. Definitely worth eating here for Tex-Mex food, especially if you want something a little more sophisticated than the usual...
