My stay was horrible!!! Check-in was ok. The front desk staff was friendly. I was informed that they were doing construction on the hotel but never thought it would be horrible like it was. When I got to my room, the room smelled like mildew. My bedding had mold stains on them & we had to call housekeeping to come & change the linens on the bed. Then upon trying to go out of our patio door, we were unable. We had to call front desk to get someone to come & open the door. The engineer opened it & told us that we couldn't lock the door, we had to latch it instead. Even with doing that, we still had to call engineering again to come open the door because it kept getting stuck & wouldn't open. We tried to turn the heat on in the room & the heater would not work. We had to call maintenance yet again to come & fix the heat. The closet door kept falling off track & we had to get them to fix that as well. Water was turned off during our stay & we had to go back downstairs just to use water or the restroom. MAJOR inconvenience!!!!!!!! TV kept cutting off on it's on despite us pushing buttons on the remote to keep it on. The volume kept going up on its on even when the remote was no where near our hands. Internet was NOT free & my phone was charged for usage during the entire week. The towels were molded as well & we had to have those replaced. The Starbucks in the hotel had a sign advertising "Strawberries & Cream Fraps". When I tried to order this, they told me that they did not have the stuff to make it. Later on that afternoon, a different worker was working & I asked him to make me one & he made something & charged me for the frap. I went back that afternoon not knowing that what he gave me earlier was not the correct thing that I requested. The next day, I went back to order the same thing & again the staff was really rude about it. I did not get anything that I ordered nor anything that was posted outside the store. If they didn't have the ingredients to make what they were advertising, they didn't need to advertise it. The male bartender was rude. We were standing at the bar to order a drink & someone else walked up after us & they tried to take their order before ours. The other customer called the bartender out about skipping over us & he went ahead & took our order. When I called to see if we could have late check-out due to being at the conference, I was told "absolutely not!" They offered to hold my bags & I...
Read moreWe usually stay here for an International pageant during the summer which we clearly pay good money for, like someone previously mentioned they nickel and dime you for everything on top of the standard fees, upon getting to our room, the closet door wouldn’t open, the tv was on when we walked in there was no remote to turn the tv off, there was some sort of slime in our mini fridge, the phone in the room didn’t work, my husband headed down to let them know, maintenance shut the room down and said those things weren’t fixable, they moved us to a new room thankfully I am super paranoid about bed bugs and check every place we stay, first bed had a bug under the pillow, they moved us to another room, that one had bugs on the mattress & to keep the story short I’ll just say we moved through 6 rooms all with bugs or larvae on the mattresses, at one point I asked the staff to please check the room with us and they did, claiming it was crumbs on the mattress while smashing the larvae with his hand! Even crumbs should not be on a mattress that is covered with sheets & protectors if they truly clean these rooms, we checked out that night and stayed at a relatives, the hotel didn’t really seem to care about the issue at the time, the international pageant director made it clear all contestants had to stay on property of the host hotel in order to compete, they called the GM and they said they would give us a suite, I didn’t care about that I just wanted a truly clean room but they insisted they give us a suite, thankfully that room appeared to have a brand new mattress I ran to target and bought a bed bug proof mattress protector right away and we kept our luggage off the floor, I wish I could attach pictures to this review because I have plenty of the dirty mattresses. On top of that, all rooms were extremely hot, the escalators were broken (as they were last year also), around 2 am on one of the nights I woke up to a loud banging, turns out one of the pipes burst and the pipes were drying out, the girl at Starbucks was extremely rude and seemed inconvenienced if you asked for anything but a refresher. I really loved this hotel last year and was excited to return, now I am hoping our director does not renew his contract...

As someone who practically lives out of a suitcase and has seen more hotel lobbies than my own living room, I rarely get excited about business travel. It’s usually the same dreary routine: fly to some strange city, grind through the day, and then shuffle back to a hotel so generic it might as well be a cardboard box.
But not this time. Oh no. From the moment I walked into the Renaissance Dallas Addison Hotel, I felt something different. Could this place really be that awesome? I tried not to get my hopes up, but optimism crept in when the front desk staff greeted me with a genuine smile—the kind of smile that says, “We know your flight was delayed and your PowerPoint crashed, but we’ve got you.”
Then I walked into my room. Friends, I tell you, it was chef’s kiss. My little slice of paradise for the week. Clean, comfortable, and just bougie enough to make me feel like I wasn’t in town purely for spreadsheets and client meetings.
And then. Oh, and then. I walked into the gym. BAM! Mind blown. Forget those sad closet-sized hotel gyms with one lonely treadmill and some dusty dumbbells. This was a fitness palace. I’m talking full equipment, space to breathe, and vibes so motivational that even your neglected New Year’s resolutions would feel compelled to join you.
I was so impressed with the service, the facilities, and the overall vibe that when my client asked if I could extend my stay by a day, I didn’t hesitate. I gladly rearranged my life just to spend one more night in this glorious oasis of business travel excellence.
Renaissance Dallas Addison Hotel, you’ve set the bar impossibly high. I’ll probably compare every future hotel to you—and they’ll all lose. Thanks for ruining mediocrity for me. 10/10, would extend...
