I had been hearing about Shake Shack for a while, but it hadn't popped to the top of my list for a tryout until several days ago.
When I entered the store, I noticed 4 or 5 stations to place online orders, and no one at the two registers. There was also no menu on the wall behind the registers, that I could see. I chose to use the online ordering, rather than wait for someone to come to the register, which seemed to be the preferred method of management.
After placing my order, including a tip and the number from one of the nearby paddles to identify my order, I picked up the numbered paddle and stood at one of the bistro tables (with no chairs) with the paddle facing the counter.
During the time I stood at the table, several people came in for pickup orders. After a short wait, a courteous young woman brought my order to me at the table.
During my wait, I looked around the restaurant to get a feel for the place to determine if I would return for an eat-in experience. The atmosphere in the room seemed cold and semi-sterile. There were diners at four or five tables who seemed to be eating with the intention of getting out as quickly as possible.
When I got home to eat with my husband, I was hungry and ready to enjoy. I was a bit surprised at the size of the burgers. They were about midway btw the size of a slider and a regular size burger. The size of the fries was adequate, but not impressive for the price.
Most impressive was the lack of taste of both the burger and the fries. It wasn't a bad taste, just kinda tasteless.
After the meal, my husband asked what I thought about it. I responded, "One and done." It was a disappointing experience, which makes me sad. I have high regard for a good burger because I try not to eat them often. I'm always in the hunt for a good tasting, well prepared burger. This was...
Read moreMy husband, little daughter and I came here one other time, although a bit on the more expensive side for a burger the food is great. Worth it if you’re looking for a good burger. With that being said, this last time we were here a woman manager actually took our order vs the kiosk.. my husband and I wanted to split and she was able to do it at the register. I didn’t catch her name, but was a medium height slenderish build. Brown hair in a pony tail. Early to mid 30s maybe early 40s at most (but looked great just my guess) just have to say, She was SO kind to us, I’ve worked in corporate food service management for a large Fortune 500 corporation for 4 years, so I have an idea what is good and what isn’t. She was so so kind to us, even offered to bring our drinks to us even though we know it’s not their business model. She said hi and bye to everyone coming in. Was concerned when she took our order that she got it right, was patient, checked on our food after it came out. I wish I had her name but I hope upper management reads this and knows who she is. She made our day with her good attitude.. not only a great manager but modeled good customer service in an A++++ fashion. I had just come from a 4 hour wait at the dmv so it was very welcome. :) any way, thanks manager lady whoever you were we will be back to burger shack because of you (and the delicious...
Read moreFirst time at the Shake Shake. First impressions, nice layout. No one greeted me as I entered 😑. There are electronic ordering stations (I'm not a fan). You can order at the counter though. I didn't know that, since no one was there to greet me and explain the process. The ordering station was straight forward and easy; you pay there as well. Now the food: the burger was on the smallish size. So if you are hungry hungry order the double. But the burger was hot, delicious and fresh, and the crinkle fries were hot and fresh as well. (Both sold A la carte). I'm a mustard guy, but, their signature sauce is pretty good (I had them place it on the in case I didn't like it). One worker did come up to me and and how everything was and cleared my mess. Price wise, I thought it was over priced at...
