This dog park is not hard to find if you have half a clue with regard to reading maps.
Put the map on satellite view. You'll notice an incredibly obvious picture of a high tension power line tower immediately to the west of the dog park. Guess what, they don't just scatter these structures randomly across the city. They are usually connected to other high tension towers via power lines. Go figure. So you can easily spot the dog park by driving down Midway, looking for collection of power lines that span the road, and then either look to your right or left and you'll see the dog park. Again, you can see the dog park from Midway.
In case that's too tricky for you, just turn into the Mattress Giant parking on the south side of the Mattress Giant building and drive to the far west end of that parking lot... there's the dog park. Come on people!
The dog park is kind of small. It has water fountains and they provide bags for animal waste disposal. There is practically no shade.
I would recommend the Wagging Tail dog park on Keller Springs road, just to the...
Read moreIt is open from 5am to 11pm, which is a plus. However, on the night I went, when there was no moonlight, the park was so dark that I was hesitant to get out of my car because it's in a rather isolated location, and I couldn't really see if anyone else was inside the enclosure or not. The parking area, as well, was quite dark.
When I went during the day, however, I found it to be pleasant enough. One thing I did notice is that there is very little shade, so I can imagine that in the summer it's quite scorching both for dogs and humans. On the small dog side there's no shade at all.
I did appreciate that the fence is very tall, so there's no need to worry about an athletic dog jumping over.
Since the dog park is exposed to the sun, if I were going to make suggestions for improvement (other than lights) it would be a splash pad for the dogs: turn the shortcomings of this park into...
Read moreKind of sketchy but I've met great people and dogs here. When put into your GPS, it takes you to hotel parking when their is actual parking on the other side. Right how their is construction going on so they have a temporary wire fence with a gate that is always open. This seems quite dangerous, but when the gates are locked EVEN THOUGH the hours say 5am-11pm Monday-Sunday (except closed for Wednesday for maintenance), it can be quite helpful with gaining access. I've loved everyone I've met here so far, and no one has brought any crazy dogs that attacks others. I give 3 stars because of the area and the...
