My friends and I went to The Londoner to support England during the Euros rather than our usual home pub. What a mistake! We arrived hours early for the final match and secured a spot near the back of the room, where we had been for all the previous matches. Everyone around me was calm and happy, excited for the game and being very nice. Within 20 minutes of getting settled some women whom we'd never seen before starting telling me and a select few of my friends that if we didn't have seats we had to leave the room and stand in the foyer. First off, who expects to have seats for a finals match as big as England vs. Italy - and we were there HOURS early. Secondly, this was not a policy stated or enforced at any of the previous matches we'd attended at the same pub, in the same room. The woman grabbed my arm and starting trying to pull me out of the room. I explained to her that my purse was at the table behind us, but she kept trying to push me out in front of her. I told her I refused to leave without my purse. Once I had my purse, my friends and I decided to take our business elsewhere. It was clear that the attitude and the service would make for a terrible experience. Happy to say that when we arrived at our home pub we were greeted warmly, had an entire table with multiple views of the game from any direction, and a much better atmosphere. Don't believe the hype of The Londoner. They show favoritism to a select group and change the rules at whim for everyone else. This was not the first time I've witnessed such behavior at this establishment, but it will be the last. #notcomingback
To The Londoner: Your lack of class cost you my cash....
Read moresigh this saddens me to write a negative review about this place because my boyfriend and I LOVED it. So disclaimer before I start this - I guess on Monday nights they do some kind of game night (we didn’t know we’ve only been on the weekends and maybe a random week night here and there) but it was BUSY. We understand it was busy but there’s a difference in being busy and having a lot of tables vs we didn’t see our waitress for 35+ min after we ordered. We got there around 8:20 and no one came over for 10 minutes. We almost got up and left and I wish we would’ve. But finally we order waters and 1 drink from the bar. Took about 10 minutes but finally got the drink from the bar and ordered an appetizer and our meals at the same time. About another 10-15 minutes go by and we finally get our cheese fries. At this point it’s close to 8:55. Some more time goes by and it’s 9:20 and we’re done. We couldn’t find our waitress so 10 more minutes to by and we finally find her. We told her we wanted to pay for the bar drinks we ordered and the cheese fries we ate. Her response was “it takes the salmon 25 minutes to cook” and gave us the most attitude. It had been almost an HOUR since we ordered at this point. She gave us the most attitude at this point and slammed down his card and the ticket. Was this her fault? No. Was this in her control? Probably not. But the way she reacted was uncalled for. And whoever handles the scheduling reaaaalllllllly needs to rethink things if this is an every Monday occurrence. We LOVED this place but unfortunately we just won’t be able to come back for a while.. to...
Read moreAs I stepped through the doors of The Londoner Bar in Addison, I couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment and frustration at the dismal state of affairs within. The heavily understaffed establishment was in utter chaos, with no available tables inside and a complete disregard for the outdoor patio.
To make matters worse, the outdoor TVs were a complete mess - only one was showing the game, and there was a flashing notification on the screen the entire time about the remote control battery dying. It was impossible to enjoy the game with such distracting and annoying technical difficulties.
And don't even get me started on the service - or lack thereof. Our server was nowhere to be found for the majority of our visit, leaving us waiting for over 30 minutes for our food and having to ask another server for help. When we tried to order more, we were told to wait while she went inside to find another server for us - a complete and utter nightmare.
To add insult to injury, other customers next to me left because they couldn't bear the wait for their orders. This used to be my go-to place to watch Arsenal games, but the experience has become unbearable. Despite wanting to give it another chance, nothing has improved, and I am forced to update my rating from 5 stars to a dismal 1 star (and that's only because Arsenal won against West Ham today).
All in all, I wouldn't recommend The Londoner Bar in Addison to anyone looking for a decent night out. The current state of affairs is abysmal, and I won't be returning anytime soon. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this establishment...
