I don't usually post reviews, but I had such a terrible time that I have to share my experience.
I am extremely disappointed in the level of service that I received at this establishment. I usually go to the Dallas location and this was the first time that I came to the Addison location. We arrived at 7:00PM, and our order was taken at 8:00PM, which was understandable as you cannot control the line and traffic. This is where everything went downhill. After waiting an hour in line, we came to the front window to find out that you guys had run out of barbacoa. This wasn't a recent development, apparently you guys had been out of the last several hours. A common courtesy would have been to put up a sign so that we wouldn't have to wait the whole hour and come back another day. Instead we waited all that time and couldn't even get the meat that we came for in the first place. We placed the order at 8:00PM, and it was a fairly large order, roughly 10 tacos, with some chips and queso. We waited patiently, for about a half hour and saw new customers come in. Note these weren't drive-through, or pickup orders. They were just ordering at the window like we had. Somehow, they got their orders before ours! Confused, I came to the front and asked the manager to check our order. The cooks took my receipt, said he knew about it, and rudely threw the receipt back at me. We waited another half hour, while people who came in after us kept receiving their orders. After enough was enough, I had to go up a SECOND time before the manager had to YELL at the cooks (thank you to that manager) to get started on our order. It was as if they were purposely avoiding our order. We FINALLY walked out with our order at roughly 9:15. Obviously it only took them 15 minutes to make our order if they had just done it in the first place. You would think after a long wait, an unpleasant experience, we would have been able to sit down and enjoy our tacos. How wrong we were. When we got home, they had messed up our order. We had ordered 3 steak, 3 brisket, 2 shrimp, and 2 pork. We got 4 steak, 4 brisket, 1 shrimp, and 1 pork.
All in all, an extremely...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would. I will never return to this place. I’ve been coming here since they opened this location. I ordered food for takeout on 8/30 around 3:45pm. Was told that my food would be ready in 15-20 minutes. I arrived around 3:55pm and was advised it would be a few more minutes. 20 minutes later someone who arrived after me got their food before I did so I asked one of the cashiers at the bar to check on my food. She took my original receipt and told me they had a 300 lb order and that’s what caused my delay and it would be right up. When the 2nd person who arrived after me got their order I asked them to cancel my order and give me my money back. The manager working who’s name I cannot remember told me they actually lost my order but it was coming right up. After waiting for so long without being acknowledged I decided I no longer wanted to waste my time. I asked for my money back and he proceeded to give me a void receipt. Void meaning they weren’t going to charge me, right? Wrong! They charged me a different amount from the void amount on the receipt on 9/1. I called them on 9/4 and spoke with Augustine. He told me he had to get with the General Manager Alfonso and call me back. They never called me back so I had to call them again to be told the same thing twice. Alfonso did call me back and left me a voicemail saying they had no record of the transaction in their system and it must be a charge back from my bank. Not only did I receive horrible service the day I went in but you don’t even take responsibility for charging me for food I never received. I had to dispute this through my bank to get my money back. I will never visit this establishment again. If you want bad service from liars and thieves this is the...
Read moreSecond time at this location. The first time, I took a wrong turn and ended up at SpringCreek but that’s another story. When I pulled up to this spot, I was happy with the parking. Not too big, not too small and mid-afternoon, there were spots by the door.
I had gotten a quesadilla because I judge places on things I can slap into my microwave. Guac and chips and a few beers. The wait wasn’t bad. There is outdoor sitting that accommodates 1-3 people and the sun was shining so it felt great. The view is of the intersection of Beltline & Midway and was quite serene.
When my randomly generated name was called, I beelined my food back to my outdoor spot and took a good look at my food.
My quesadilla was packed with Monterrey Cheese and I wanted to test their Fajita beef. Paired with Salsa verde, I took my bite and it was a slap to the senses. The meat was tender, neatly seasoned and there was plenty of it.
Because of this, the quesadilla was damn greasy but for less than $7, I’m not gonna call management.
It was worth my drive, my time and appreciation.
The guacamole, with an extra squirt of Lime, was the real treat.
I’m a bit of a messy eater and I can tell you the guac was nice and consistent so I was able to dunk my Quesadilla pieces and go to town.
After demolishing my tin pan plate of food, I began to wash it down with the remainder of my beer and returned my view to the street.
I wondered how much of a fool i was to live in N. Dallas for a year and not know of this nugget of Acapulco Gold was so close.
My next item would be an elote. I don’t have my experience with that item but I’m sure I would not be...
