I visited Breaking Brew Meadery as a new experience and fun start to the Labor Day weekend. It is the only meadery in north Texas. The proprietor was very friendly; greeting me as I came up to the bar. He is very knowledgeable about mead and the history of this honey drink originating from medieval times. The meadery offers a nice selection of mead on tap; ranging from light, slightly sweet, great for summer sipping to a full bodied aromatic berry version that would be perfect to enjoy by a fireplace on a chilly fall or winter evening. I recommend the Ginger Bear and Black Betty to try. The mead can be purchased to go; freshly canned from tap as you wait, and also by bottle.
Breaking Brew Meadery offers a unique enjoyable beverage experience in a comfortable atmosphere.
I took some Root Bear mead to a dinner party in Lakeview, AR, on beautiful Bull Shoals lake in the Ozarks. The Women Who Wine became the Women Who Mead! They had never tried mead before. They loved the mead and the 32 oz. unique glass...
Read moreI had a request to sending a friend some Mead. I accepted the challenge and went to Breaking Brew Meadery. I went by on a random evening to have a flight. I learned they had traditional meads and sessionable meads. That’s adding the carbonation that you would find in beer. My happy place of course! The Meadtender was very knowledgeable and allowed me to sample the regular mead that I would take home. It has a mellow sweetness that can be enjoyed. I believe my favorite was The Bee Sting. I think I’m constantly searching for balance of sweet with heat blends. I don’t like hot things. I’m not a big pepper fan...I know I know I have the palate of a toddler. Pay me no mind. This is a great combination. It made it hard for me to decide on what to get my friend. I ended up with three as well as a traditional mead. If you want to explore you will feel safe as you have options to socially distance and have a drink. God...
Read moreI love Breaking Brew Meadery! I initially found this place on a whim and decided to stop by after work. I'm so glad I did! Friendly bartenders with a deep knowledge of mead. The owner is welcoming and very proud of his mead. Super chill place to hang out, have a drink, and relax. Execellent flavors on tap, from Dr. Bee's and Root Bear that taste like certain sodas, to sweet flavors like Cherry Noir, Raspberry Beret, and Ruby Solstice. They also have a couple traditional meads on tap. I recommend the Black Betty. The flight is a great way to taste all the options and see what you like. The brewery also offers tons of board games and space for table top games. They have cans to take home and various growlers you can bring each time to refill. I enjoy bringing friends here to try it out. Great place for any beer or wine lover. Definitely...
