Read moreMy review after living next to the park for 3 years: Well maintained park that is wheelchair accesible. Has a concrete path that loops around a section of Vitruvian Creek (about .75 miles). The loop also connects to a trail that loops around Brookhaven College. Though, the Brookhaven loop is not as even and may be slightly harder for those in a wheelchair, but not impossible. If you’re looking for something not so manicured, follow the Brookhaven trail and find the three hidden dirt paths (some are really well hidden). The Vitruvian Park trail is a great place for a relaxing date night walk because there are bars with light food and drinks right next to the park. If you don’t want to go into the bars, there are plenty of areas for a picnic. Stay into the evening and see the Vitruvian Lights, turned on nightly from after thanksgiving until right after the new year. Suggest wearing a mask as it can get very crowded in the walking trails during the Lights. For the more athletic person, there are two open fields for playing sports but in the larger one, (behind the sand volleyball) parts of the ground are uneven and may result in injury if you’re not careful, inspect the area you’re running in first. If you like meditation or yoga I recommend the dam that is visible from the bridge that intersects the Vitruvian and Brookhaven trails - really nice rushing...
Read moreI really used to enjoy coming here but over the years, the crowds have become unbelievable. I tried going last night with my family and sat in my car for about 35 minutes before getting to the area (I drive from Irving) and then when getting there seeing how disorganized the area is, was disheartening. Maybe it was due to Covid and the lack of other Christmas-y things to do, but was extremely disappointed when I couldn't find a parking spot then had to go all the way back to Marsh and got stuck in that traffic again. Ended up being in my car for an hour and 30 minutes before we finally said forget it. Maybe in future years or events, possibly getting some better organization for the large scale of crowds and cars coming unto the area. All I can think about is how sorry I am for all of the people who live in that area and have to deal with this.
Please use caution when you are at the intersection of Vitruvian and Marsh, we saw several people blocking the intersection and...
