I don't like leaving low reviews, but today I sadly give this place 3 Stars, becuase it was an ok experience, nothing terribly bad, just a lot of little things that make it so that I won't want to come back. There are SO many better options in terms of atmosphere and service. Pardon my long review, but I couldn't just write a 3 star review without some factual information. Before we get into it I must say that they had good food, and healthy options. Those two things made for the experience not to get an under 3 star review. My only two issues were with the service and the mabiance if the place. Here we go:
THE SERVICE: The waitress was kind and gratious with her mistakes, but there were too many: 1) we got the wrong food, so they took it back 2)She forgot our cappuccinos and she added sweetner without asking, 3) She brought our bill, took our credit cards and then she came back to ask what we had ordered! I had kept the customer copy of the bill and then she charged us.
THE PLACE: 1)The generic white tile floors just make the restaurant look cheap, which is a shame because they had some nice decorations. 2) The bathroom was very small, for 1 person, and they only had 2 for a large place. I had to wait for two people to go before me. The employees used the same bathroom and one of the employees was verbally upset that there was a line, then she threw her arms in the air and left. She was behind me in line. 3) The arrangement of the bathroom seemed as if they had fixed it poorly/cheaply. There was a blue plastic circle in the wall (under the paper dispenser to dry your hands), the kind you're supposed to paint over and cover, but it was exposed, the floor had some round metal, sealed in a way that looked nasty, and they had a febreeze bottle in there, which tells me that smells are a problem. I can imagine, since those two stalls can't serve the whole restaurant...
Read moreI searched for the best mimosa brunch and Toasty came up. I called and expected it wait since it was Mother's Day, they currently did not have one. We were down the street at church so it was convenient to where we were.
But sadly, and disappointingly, they did not have mimosas. Can't truly have a proper brunch without a mimosa!
I will give them credit for attempting to do something a little bit different with decor but as a designer it really kind of hurt my heart to see it fall so short. I did like the tile selection that they used for the lobby desk and kitchen area. The stuff that is on the walls looks like it's from the dollar store. I know that sounds harsh but it's totally the truth. I think perhaps paring it down and just making more of statements maybe even with an accent wall would make a bolder impact then the clutter that is there currently.
They have a very extensive menu with a lot of items to choose from. Pretty good price points. But I did charge $4.50 a glass of juice which seems pretty crazy to me.
Waitress was friendly and very attentive.
I ordered the whole hog bowl, the hash browns in it we're mushy and I wasn't a big fan of it. My kiddo had a big breakfast so wasn't incredibly hungry so just ordered a side of bacon, she ate one and then said she didn't feel good. I tried the bacon and it wasn't good at all! I don't know if it was the way they cooked it or it was old. The waitress removed it from the bill.
As we were sitting at brunch one table had the cartoons blaring for their kids on a phone and the booth behind us the parents were yelling at the kids about their behavior. That had nothing to do with the restaurant and annoyance as patron.
I don't think that I will be...
Read moreFirst visiting Toastys and I have a few remarks.
Waitress- was nice and friendly Food- Pretty much every thing on the plate was pre-cooked Sysco food warmed up and in house cooked eggs. Absolutely nothing was made in house. Asked the waitress if the OJ was freshly squeezed and she said yes and right after I saw her pour it of a Syco gallon jug. Atmosphere- It was nice and bright, but looks like a man who has no decorating skills threw something together. Nothing really matched and the artwork was way too small for those large walls. Ownership - creepy is a nice way of putting it. Kept staring at my table and all the tables( while making remarks in god knows what language), the boss lady was peskering at our waitress for water. When I asked her when they had opened she ran off and was talking in her language to what looked like another owner. Man owner came to our table and just assumed everything was good and walked off.
Overall: It a business that seems to be run by amatures who don’t have a lot of solid experience in the restaurant business. Everyone can warm up a pre cooked item but not all can cook a meal from scratch. A lot more of these type of restaurant are popping up and honestly they all have the same exact food run by the same group of people.
P.S- it’s funny to read the comments on here replied by the owner. His/Her attitude really changes when someone says something they don’t like. Truly shows the lack of experience...
