AutoZone is your run of the mill, standard auto parts store. The vast majority of automotive hard parts they carry under their in house Duralast brand (as well as more simple items, like brake pads and rotors) are made overseas in countries where labor wages are dirt cheap (usually India, in my experiences). Now, this isn't by any means uncommon, and in fact it's a very common theme among the auto parts store collective. For me, it's just a personal matter of preference due to adverse experiences with non-OEM parts, and so for auto parts of any importance, I'll buy the OEM parts. This comes from not only having bought parts from AutoZone for years, but also working there for some time and getting to see the experiences of many customers. However, there are exceptions to that rule. Spark plugs/wires, oil/filters, some electrical components like switches, relays and fuses I'll buy from any parts store. The quality of those kind of parts doesn't change from store to store, as the manufacturers don't generally change. I SLIPPED and FELL on the floor once inside. It had been raining.
