My daughter and I went to North Domingo Baca Park for some quality time, but got stared down instead. We usually avoid that area like the plague to dodge drama. Give me a world where we can visit without being judged on our skin, wallet, or curves. And, honestly, Some other areas in the city are bad like this too, I was at tingly beach and I was walking around the pond looking at the people, next thing you know is a woman staring back at me insinuating if I had a problem, I was so upset for the remainder of the day, and I couldn't get it out of my head for months....you have to live with fear of being checked, just for looking in this city. I came here to NE heights park and people don't like me here either. Newsflash: looking isn't lurking, and mom-daughter park hangouts aren't suspicious plans. San Mateo/San Pedro Montgomery's is better. I was planning on visiting for the opening of the new pool but after this, No thanks. Now we're off to find splashy fun elsewhere due to local vibes. I've been in Albuquerque since 1989. I should have taken this to the news station to emphasize the importance of diversity. I really feel like I'm owed on apology, but from whom? I can't go look for the people who started this, perhaps parks and recreation, something needs to be done to normalize accepting people of different backgrounds in rich parts of Albuquerque. Me and my daughter never posed a threat, I'm not even wearing tattoos, we're not homeless people, I have my own car, and we were eating blakes lotaburger which costs a buck to buy now a days, we were literally minding our own business.

ITS LATE JUNE AND NO WAIT AT THE ELEVATORS!!! It was Amazing! Walked the big room which is spectacular, but is a long walk about 2.5 hours, there are small hills the can tire you if you are out of shape. Currently 56 degrees wear pants and a sweatshirt. Ranger Lead Tours: The left hand tour was fun and warmer, no jacket needed. This is the one with lanterns. Not much time for photos, but It was really neat. . At the end you get to hike out alone with your lantern. Only about 50 feet but totally cool. If you don't see well in low light you might need a flashlight. I used my phones light and was fine. The Ranger (Rick) was so much fun, he dressed like Indiana Jones . Lots of hands on artifacts to touch that he brought with him. Each Ranger is allowed to do what they want, so if you don't get Rick your experience  will be different. Kings Palace tour is COLD. Wear your sweats/pants and a thick sweat shirt. You sit on rock benches and this will make you cold. It's about 2.5 hours and beautiful. Plenty of time for photos and an easy walk. Our ranger did not talk much about formations but gave some interesting facts and history. The evening bat flight was ok but nothing to write home about. The bats are small. The area is not a well lit, its sunset to evening so getting dark. The rangers will not let you use your phone or flashlight, NO PHOTOS. They come out in small clouds that look like ash on the wind. Hope this helps folks!

These multi generational centers me and my friend and artist Carmen Armijo- De Leon visited were amazing the classes they provided are fun useful and exciting. Very friendly people we were greeted with a smile every one we went to. There is so much to do at these places and they also have meals that you can purchase for lunch , breakfast and I believe some of them have snacks these centers are spread out all around New Mexico but this particular journey was in Albuquerque. We love to visit because the centers have arts and crafts fairs where you can buy or sell at a decent price 😉 ty to all the centers we visited we will be visiting you again real soon because me and Carmen are taking flamenco dancing and rotablo art see you soon!

Great park. Probably my favorite in Albuquerque. Tons of space. Massive grass fields. Huge playground for kids. Several large covered seating areas for parties.

Normally well kept. Though the was a leaky water faucet there when we visited a week ago.

If you are planning on using the covered tables for a group gathering, be aware that there are only 4 of them, and lots of people have the same idea. We had to get there 1-1.5 hours early to "claim" a spot. While there's no formal system, the sociable away that this is done is to ask the group currently at the table when they think they will finish. If that time works for you, then ask them if you can take it when they are done.

Then if they have a spare table (most groups have a spare table), grab all your stuff and camp out waiting for them to leave. Kind of stinks to do it that way, but any other approach and you will probably lose the spot once they leave or risk arguing with others. Claim, camp it, and watch for others who might be thinking the same thing so you can politely make them aware.

Google asked me to update as it's been a while: Still a great park. Lots to do here. My kids love it. Our...
