There is a small park just north of Virginia Tech on..... University Avenue. Glebe Road is no longer called Glebe Road. Glebe Road is called University Avenue. The park is called Potomac Yard park. The small park is located at 3601 University Avenue on the left side of the street. On the right side of the street is the backside of Potomac Yards, our Alexandria shopping yards. The small park is labelled "Alex Renew." It has a mission statement of protecting Alexandria's waterways, the signage says, devoted to protecting the health of Alexandria Waterways. The exact location is called the Innovation District Pumping Station. It is a small park in the shadow of Virginia Tech. There are sidewalks to walk to and from it. The ADA access is there but at greater effort for walking or rolling disabled persons. Their route is longer than walking peoples access. The color tone is mute, sand colored. The ground coverage is minimally grass. There is wood chipping type stuff that, well, leaves the park with you. There are giant stone blocks people are already scrawling on with chalk which is fun but maybe not intended by the planners. A water station is present. There is also a flora diagram of the flora and habitat restoration. There is also some spots to park. Dont park in the spots. They are not visible from the road. Park on the opposite side where you can be seen by anyone driving by. If you are a parent or nanny occupied on putting kids in and out of the car, the stroller and stuff, you cant have all eyes everywhere when needed. If you want a more developed park, continue driving south on University Avenue formerly known as Glebe Avenue, past the Metro Station. You will see the bigger more complete park where kiddos go. I was blown away by how amazing this building is! First day at school and everyone was in a great mood all around. Overall a very transformative experience compared to the old campus. This building is something for Virginia Tech to truly be proud of. Also really cool place to spot trains and planes :)

Really cool building design—was fun to see it go up over the past three years. It’s kind of in an awkward location (Potomac Yard) and stands out in the neighborhood, but my understanding is they’re going to build up the rest of the area next to the metro. Will be a very busy area soon.

It is a great building with a nice design. As a Hokie (VT alumnus), I wanted to enter the building and give my parents, who were visiting the city from somewhere else, a tour. However, the front desk person was so rude. He didn’t even answer my questions and was very indifferent to my queries. That is disappointing. I love everything about my school. But that wasn't very...
