Algoma Pierhead Lighthouse — Attraction in Algoma

This was my first experience of Lake Michigan and it did not disappoint. Lake had 4 different colors as it went further away. Really cool to see brown, light blue, green, deep blue the further you look. Only downside was the area I was at, near the visitation center, was full of small rocks. With sandals and proper foot wear it’s not a big deal. If you plan on swimming in that area it’s hard on your feet. It does have a beach area about a block down with volley ball nets and places to hangout. For my first Lake Michigan experience I’d say it was a good one.

This lighthouse will always have my piece of my heart even though it doesn’t have the coolest history or visual appeal. it’s cool to think the lighthouse was constructed in Muskegon, Michigan and then transported to Algoma from there.
