We arrived and found a table rather quickly on an early Sunday evening. After being seated for about 10 mins, the waitress came over to take our order. She was very friendly when taking our order and thus we expected great service. We ordered cheese curds as an appetizer and two burgers for our meal. After taking our order, she immediately came back with our drinks, but it went downhill from there. The restaurant was about 3/4 full when we placed our order. We waited 40 mins and got nothing. Cheese curds (as an appetizer) should have been out within 10 mins max. The waitress never took the initiative to stop by to apologize for the long wait or to even tell us why it was taking so long. She never once checked on us after delivering our drinks. We left after the 45 min mark because we had still heard nothing from our waitress, and no food had been served to us. The table next to us arrived before we did and were still waiting on their food when we left. I'm not sure what the issue was, but we did not feel valued as a customer here and...
Read moreI absolutely love this place. Their chicken wings are some of the best aroundâcrispy, flavorful, and totally addictiveâbut why do they never have the drummies?! Iâm a drummie fan through and through, and I keep hoping one day Iâll hit the jackpot.
The atmosphere here is greatâcozy, welcoming, and just the right mix of laid-back and lively. The pizza is fantastic too, and honestly, you canât go wrong with anything on the menu. My husband and I have probably gotten take-out here over forty times by now, and itâs always consistently good.
Pro tip: Donât park in the corner lot across the street to pick up your order. Even though the business there only closed last year, apparently that patch of asphalt has become the most hotly guarded real estate in town. The police patrol it like itâs Fort Knox, and youâll risk a ticket for daring to linger.
Still, Off The Hook is absolutely worth the tripâgreat food, great people, and a place that just feels like home.
(I'll give you an extra star if we get a load of drummies next time...
Read moreThis restaurant was recommended by the owner of a hotel in town. Have been here before under previous owners, pretty good food at that time. We were given our drinks pretty quick but as for taking our orders, took a long time and we had to flag the girl down. Seems something was going on outside and everyone had to take a look. We then waited a LONG time to get our food, and actually thought of leaving. We ordered chili, a rib eye sandwich, a chicken wrap and fries. We got our food but no chili. I said forget it, too late! We got it anyway, said "well he already was making it up". It wasn't even hot! Food was so so, but steak sandwich very good. Now, this place was not busy so I don't understand. Please don't blast the customers as you have done with other reviewers. Take what is written and try to make it better! You are sitting on a goldmine as you are one of the only restaurants open at night, in town. Fabulous location, great views out the windows, on the main road going north. We were in Algoma on...
