I grew up around the corner from the Anaheim Plaza and many changes have taken place over the last 40 yrs. Once an inside, multiple floor mall with Big Department Store Anchor's like "The Broadway,' JCP Macys and Mervyn's. We had elevators and escalators, a concierge desk, a huge food court that doubled as a john robert powers runway where i would ocasionally watch vivica a fox and kathy ireland come into the spotlight. There was a year round childrens train that would shine like diamonds during the holidays. We had never ending lines to visit with Santa & his helper or learn the big directory of stores.y Grand pianos, breath- ta of storesing decorations, Huge Chrustmas Trees, Specific item Vendors lke youd find at the swap meet. Even face painting Clowns, Beauty Salons, shoe repair, travel agencies. Fredricks of Hollywood would of put Victorias Secret out of business. you didmt have TV on the go or phones or tablets back then. Zdx enwmes espexially go repair Gold by the inch mskiosks with plenty of 17 yr old medically trained professionals weilding ear piercing guns. Spencers gifts was the coolest store with strobe lights, velvet posters, t-shirts i wont let go of. Sees Candy, Orange Julius, Bob's Ice Cream and Lemonade. Anaheim Plaza was the place to be. From beauty pagents to friday night Muscle Car shows...Today walmart took The Broadways place and Forever 21 rests where Mervyn's used to be. Over the years the property owner, KIMCO RE gradially converted the property to a strip mall. With the standard group of stores. Big bo DC neing most helpful but there are a lot of vacancies among the dollarama type stores and Marshalls, DDs and Ross liquidators. Smart and Final is across the street next to a Northgate or El Rancho Market. Wendy's is Walmart's in- store McDonald's competitor and Pet Co and Party City sit side by side but those store always appear closed..The plaza still has a food court. Rubios,Subway, Dragon 21 and another privately owned sandwhich shop thats become popular because of free wifi. The public restrooms are permanently closed now and the benches and bike racks all removed. The 24 hour stores now close at 11pm M-Su. There are a lot of homeless around the mall and surrounding neighborhoods. More or even with the gang population and the sadly, the same faces i've recognied for yeaar I think. Security and the police make no secret they want homeless people to leave as soon as their cash aid and food stamps are gone. The aggression though, has left literally nothing by way of even the simplest landscaping. tresspassing tickets and arrests. City Net started to help these folk but thats petered out.i thought the plaza was worth fighting for and this is were my...
Read moreIt has most all my needs in one well two locations since it spans Crescent at Euclid.
North side has Citibank, Wendy's, El Super for great fresh produce, deli, bakery has best cakes (to order ahead or ready to go), and butcher shop (will cut to order), fresh seafood at super prices. I've been pleased with my many experiences with all these departments, Smart & Final for lunchbox supplies, good spice variety and sizes, block/shredded/sliced cheeses, deli meats, salads, great quality meats, frozen seafood and lots more. Decent parking with wheelchair accessibility, up close spaces. Neither store has electric shopper carts for use, that I saw, S&F used to, that said staff will help you out to car and load your purchases for you.
South (main) side has Walmart, AAA, B of A, Schools First CU, Party City, PetCo, Subway, Rubio's, GNC, Ulta, Five Below and way more shops, decent parking and wheelchair accessible.
Marie Callender's is now closed. If this isn't enough choices there's another center across Euclid to explore and Chase is on...
Read moreIts just the same thing as usual and I don't mean that in a good way sadly. Obviously not a good way to get shopping done especially if you have a headache with constant screaming and yelling from kids whose parents stand right in front of the spoiled brat letting it continue to scream I and mean like that high pitched scream for no reason at all! I witnessed it personally and then I had to hear it at the farthest corner of the store and I couldn't get any further away from the same yelling kid cuz I would never break through the wall lol. I could suggest to clear out the day to shop here when you decide to go shopping, oh ya and checkout when finished shopping on your own cuz you know they never actually get cashiers to work at all even though they have or used to have so many new probably never used ever cash registers before they put the do it yourself(thanks to lazy workers)...
