Bought a Nissan Titan 4*4 2010 the buying experience was phenomenal I like that the price you see is the price you pay, no additives. So far the car has a nice drive and works wonderfully. Only got one indicator light for low tire pressure but that's not entirely uncommon could be a sensor so we'll see the radio was a bit finicky to use however it's difficult to do a proper review with so little time with the car I'm only writing one now to remind myself to do an update in a month or two at that point I'll have driven to another state hauling all my stuff and that'll really put the car to the test.
Update Since buying the vehicle we've had it overlooked by a trusted reliable and well reviewed mechanic. The results have been pretty grim. We got handed almost 3,000 Dollars worth of necessary work. Everything from major oil leaks from the seal, hose etc to the refurbished starter that failed and a battery that is at less than 50% the tires where too large for the suspension pack so it's causing problems with the rack and pinion. Now with all this being said the major concern of course is the oil leak š my husband had crawled in the rain under the truck and brought the attention of what appeared to be fresh oil to Sam and her mechanic who vehemently claimed left and right that there was no leak and that the fresh oil was due to the filter being on loose to it was spillage. My husband went under twice and even argued with him about it but the mechanic again said it wasn't. Of that 3000 bill at least 1200 is for the work needed for the oil leak(s). To be shown and have proof on our driveway of these leaks was very upsetting. We called Sam and even sent her copies of our estimate we hoped at least the oil stuff shed pay partially for since her mechanic is also her partner. She said shed look it over with him and contact us back. It's been two plus weeks and she hasn't answered my calls or follow up texts. I am keeping the car and I will be paying for the work needed that being said I am deeply disappointed by the lying and subterfuge and underhanded approach she has taken. If she wishes to run her buisness this way I can't endorse it. I would not recommend her to anyone the only reason I give her two stars is because of how she treated us while we where buying the car. You would be better off buying from an auction honestly. Additional update I find it interesting that Sam is responding to my review but not my texts or calls yet wants to work again with us in the future as a result of her response I dropped my two stars to 1. Additionally my mechanic discovered most of these just with a visual inspection that he didn't charge us for and the parts that we have purchased independently ourselves he's offered to install for free. Which we where heavily recommend by multiple Valvoline shops due to their reliable foreign car work and he's getting us deals for other equipment that I personally have priced out and it will be a major savings. Again my major problem was the oil leak it was so major that after one night in the garage my driveway had a large puddle. The oil leak was sworn up and down by her mechanic to just be the loose filter we went off of her apparent honesty. They supposedly also drove the car so for many days before selling it so they would have seen the oil leak. Also the original ad asking price was 6900 and we negotiated to 6600 that return policy was around 2-300 which would have negated our negotiated price I wasn't looking to return the vehicle I wanted her to honor her word when her mechanic to our faces and hers said is wasn't a leek. For her to say I made major savings is ridiculous if the truck was worth 8000 then maybe she should have advertised for it or maybe she knew it was only worth that much in good condition which it's not, it's in fair condition. If she truly wanted our buisness in the future she would have called me back and taken care of the oil cost, even half that cost I would have been happy with but to ignore and then say that I was completely okay with the oil leak...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would like to express my dissatisfaction with the work of the dealerās company Best OC Cars. Since I urgently needed to buy a car, I contacted this company. I was influenced by the false attitude and promises of the owner of the company, who introduced herself as Sam. From the first minute, Sam tried to be nice, talked a lot, and started to convince me that I should buy a car, which I came to check. She repeated several times that the car was in excellent condition and that it was a very good price. During inspection, I found several disadvantages and noticed a damage on the body of the car (similar to a hit that was carefully restored). The owner decided to remain silent about this. She told me that all the disadvantages will be repaired by the next day; thus, convincingly trying to sell the car. Also, she repeated several times and promised that she will update an expiring 2019 registration for 2020. When I made the payment, signed the contract, and took the car to the first gas station, it turned out that the gas tank flap button did not work. So, the owner kept silent about this, as well. A day later, I noticed the tapping under the hood of the car. I drove to the mechanic, and he told me that I have to change the front suspension both sides). So, I needed to invest few hundred dollars more to the car, comparing to what I planned. After two or three days, the dealer calls and tells me that I must pass the smog check. Since, I recently came to the USA and was not familiar with the car purchase and sale process, she decided to take advantage of that. I consulted with my sister, who informed me that the passage of smog check is always carried out before selling the car and this is the sellerās responsibility. I told Sam, that according to the official web-site of the State of California Department of Motor Vehicle, The seller is required to provide the buyer with a valid smog inspection certification at the time of the sale or transfer. When I informed Sam about this, she became angry. After my several attempts she promised to refund me for completion of the smog check. During two days she had not be getting in touch, explaining later that she had forgotten about that. Finally, Sam refunded me for a smog check. Meantime, when transfer of documents took place, I asked her several times about renewal of the registration for 2020, since she promised to do that. I have her confirmation message about that. After a month, I received a letter from DMV reminding me to make a payment for renewal of the registration for a vehicle. I realized that the dealer had tricked me. I began to write messages to her, to call her. There was no result. This undoubtedly indicated Samās dishonesty. I do not recommend this company to anyone! And do not get involved with such a small dealers when...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came here because of Sam's excellent reviews, also hoping to have a good overall used car buying experience. Unfortunately that didn't happen for me, and I have been surprised at how Sam has turned out to be dishonest and unwilling to follow through with her promises.
I ended up buying a used Acura TL after being assured multiple times that the car was in great shape and that there would be NO major repairs needed. They told me they performed a thorough "100 point inspection" on this car and I trusted that. I was even told that if any major issues came up in the first few days they would help me take care of them.
Long story short, I ended up having to spend over $1000 within the first week on needed repairs that were made to seem like nothing during the car buying process. Dead battery, broken engine mount, damaged tie rod ends, tires with ripped side walls that are unsafe to drive. I even specifically asked about the shape of the tires as I couldn't see the inner treads when on the lot, and was told they would go another 10k miles...
Some of this is on my for not taking the car to a mechanic and doing a full inspection, but I was hoping that I could trust that the high ratings would be a reflection of Sam's honesty.
In addition, Sam promised to send me some things that were missing on the car (Navigation CD and tow hook cover) within the first week. Over a month later I haven't received anything and she has stopped responding to text messages.
Overall I actually like the car, I just wish Sam had been honest about everything and had followed through on...
