First time to Disney California Adventure Park on 6/8/2023. We popped into this theater because we had a few minutes to spare before heading over to the World of Color - ONE show and I am so glad we did. You first are directed into a red carpeted lobby with no seating. We just sat on the floor and waited. Then the doors opened on the right to take you into the theater with proper seats. They give you 3D glasses which you need to watch the film and the film is only 13 minutes long. This was the first time I have been to a 3D film and it shocked me to have things popping off the screen towards me. So amazing. A note for those with allergies, I think scents and water are released in this theater to go along with the film. In particular, think it was the smell of apple pies. The scent did not bother me, but I just wanted you to know about it if that could be an issue for you. At the very end of the show, make sure you look to the back of the theater, behind you, because I almost missed the closing trick. Now, I have to admit that this show was nice and reviewed some good songs by Disney, but I really miss some of the older films and princesses I grew up with and did not care for the songs by the newer Pixar and Disney films. So it was not quite what I was hoping for. I also heard that this theater show used to feature the Muppets - I LOVE the reboot Muppet Movie AND the Muppets Most Wanted Movie I loved EVEN MORE. So if this had been a Muppet themed Theater show - that would have been 100% better and seriously we would have come over and saw it earlier in the day! Overall, this is not a ride but a nice sit and relax moment for 13 minutes in air conditioning. It would be good...
Read moreMy husband and I went in here towards the end of the day when we were winding things down. Having missed it so often in Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom, this was a good opportunity here. We were told upon entry that there was only about 2 minutes to showtime so we hurried in.
We had missed the preshow but grabbed our 3 D glasses and sat inside a nearly empty theater. As the movie began Mickey was the sorcerer's apprentice leading the band and he ends up leaving and left the hat behind. Donald Duck becomes the new apprentice and takes you on a journey through some of the most famous songs of the contemporary Disney cartoon films. Seems as though Donald was always getting into some sort of trouble since the hat blew away and he had to chase it down. I did like his interaction with the Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and Peter Pan with their signature tunes.
Somehow or another the hat is retrieved and Donald is reunited with Mickey. I also loved hearing the voice of Goofy offstage giving directions. The show lasts about 10 minutes and it's a great way to sit down and get out of the heat after walking around...
