First time to Disney California Adventure Park on 6/8/2023. I was excited to go on the Little Mermaid ride since I loved singing the songs as a kid. The line for the ride moved very quickly so it never felt like we were waiting because we were always walking forward. Note that if you have a citrus allergy - the restaurants on the left side of the building serve oranges and the wind blows that citrus scent onto the line for the Little Mermaid ride especially on the left side of the building. So if you have a citrus allergy, get on this ride first before people start eating at the restaurants. Now back to the ride itself. This was my first time on the Little Mermaid ride and I have to admit that I was a tad disappointed. The scenes are just playing through a loop and you pop into them and you pop out of them without hearing everything going on. We just happened to pass through the scenes in the middle of everything so we heard no beginning or end to all of their statements so it was not as fun. My son and husband who never saw the Little Mermaid movie had no idea what was going on in the story. What I am saying is - this is not a ride that triggers speech, scenes, etc. when you arrive, nor is it a ride that announcements come out of the car itself triggered by the scene when you enter. Plus, you are not in most of those scenes long enough to really get an idea of what is going on, before you are off to the next room. The best part of the ride was the large room where everyone was dancing under the sea with so much to look at. But it all seemed dark compared to the movie and I expected more bubbles or something. I know the kissing in the boat scene was part of the movie, but it was my least favorite scene and it felt very awkward and uncomfortable. My husband liked this ride better than the Monster's Inc. ride simply because he felt there was more to look at. I think the Peter Pan ride did a better job of completing ideas before moving to the next room. Overall, the ride does move slowly and is good for all ages. Our wait...

Read moreOh. My. God. What the hell. Who's magical Pop Tart™ brain came up with this absolute garbage ride on the corner of Pixar Pier? Who's watching The Little Mermaid on Disney+ really wishing to take a journey into Ariel's universe in California Adventure? I'm just wondering... When is this movie going to be over? Why aren't we watching WALL-E, an actual good film with like... A meaning? Anyway, my mistaken self was thrown on to this oceanic, scenic ride, wasting time away from Avengers Campus. I got on, hyped for an exhilarating ride, and we began moving. We quickly accelerated, moving 3mph. I was thrilled... I wished, as I suddenly transitioned myself to the dull reality to which I found myself in a slow chair looking at 1980's Animatronics. The 2-year-old girl behind me was actually freaking out seeing Ariel bop her head side-to-side... "Wow, how fantastical" I said within myself, mocking the chubby children surrounding me on the ride's train. I checked my phone, as my wife gave me a text asking where I was in the park. I responded, "You don't want to know." I then realized, everyone was looking at my phone in entire boredom, even the female organism behind me. Anywho, this track has literally no sole purpose...
