Ok, first the good things... We didn't have reservations, but we were seated within 10 minutes, which was nice. The fried potato skins were very good. The food came in a timely manner.
Our server wore sunglasses even though it was an overcast day and not sunny, he seemed unhappy to be at work, or hung over , or like it was just a paycheck to him, not that he enjoyed being there at all.
The ratatouille was a weird mix of over salted smoked tomato sauce and bland cheesy middle that even when mixed all together as suggested it didn't taste or blend well. The piggy wings were so very well marinated it permeated every bite, the sauce was salty and overwhelming, literally undesirable taste, though the texture was fine.
The 3 adult with us only each took 3 or 4 bites of our dishes and pushed them away because it was so displeasing to each of us. The server did not come do a check back once food was dropped nor ask how things tasted. He did not question or bat an eye that we all stopped eating and our plates pretty much hadn't been touched. He did not ask if anything was wrong or if there was anything he could do for us. (Though it's not his fault the food was not up to par, it was his job to catch that his guests were not enjoying the food , and it ruined the exlerience).
I will not only never come back here to eat, I will caution and warn anyone who is thinking about it to proceed with caution. The menu seems interesting and unique, but the flavors of what we had just were far from what we expect from Disney and topped with a grumpy server, it will be a decision you might regret if you go.
*Edit... I wish I could give a fresh review, but I can't.. So please see comment below... July 24th 2019.
We were here a 6 weeks ago and our server made the experience worse than it needed to be. We had problems with our food and he didn't care.. I left a Google review then asked for a manager, just so they could fix how bad things were with their staff... Then they introduced Rio (I'm certain I asked for a manager, then she arrived saying, hi you asked to speak with me?)... She said to try it again upstairs and see how it goes.
Today we arrived and tried to check into the desk where we ate last time. We asked for the lounge area and were told the check in was not the same spot as the restaurant, it was just around the corner.
We went around the corner and the hostess seating us was RIO!! .... In regular server garb (Which is totally ok, but last visit she acted like she was a manager when she handled my complaint, now I question whether it even got to the right channels). I asked... she said she was a team lead, (which is NOT was I was told last upset visit) .
We were immediately seated... the view of the bar was lovely, the servers all had smiles and the bartenders looked engaged, it was very very nice to see emlpoyees here like their jobs. Rio came by to check on us, she is very very nice but after the (What I feel was) intentional decption of her being a manager last visit, I didn't feel warmly towards her. I felt like she was only checking so we weren't mad.. Food was delicious, it was quick and Martha was absoluting freaking fantastic. This time things went mostly well, I will give...

Overall: (9/10) The food was delicious, definitely some of my favorite food in the park. The view is cool if you get to sit near the water. The inside of the resturant was a little underwhelming for being such a popular disney resturant. It had cool elements, but sitting outside was a highlight. The service...THE SERVICE was awesome and really made our time there especially all the food recommendations!
Server: Kenny - His service was 10/10. We are so lucky we got him. This was my first time and I had no idea what to get I asked Kenny for recommendations along the way, both food and drinks. He is clearly a fellow foodie who knows his was around the menu. He gave us both food and drink recommendations that we ended up loving!! He shared his love for various food and drinks and was so attentive to our needs. His high level of service really made our whole experience and left us feeling so happy about everything. We were so thankful we had him serving us. If you're a foodie, hopefully you get Kenny!
What we ate:
Lobster Nachos (7.5/10) - they are a larger plate of nachos, check other peoples photos. It was a little soggy at the bottom. It was good, but if you like nachos it was okay, the lobster and the tortilla chips are really the highlight. Nachos in SoCal are bomb and cheap, so it's hard to compete. It's really about the novelty of it being a scoop of lobster aside from that it's like your basic nachos with shredded cheese, peppers, beans and pico de gallo. Ask for extra lobster sauce on the side, THAT SAUCE IS GREAT! and goes well with alot the dishes.
Kung Pao Bao (8.5/10) - These were very flavorful and exactly what the name suggests. They are 3 Kung Pao Baos that are delicious if you love a mix of sweet and spicy, in a perfect little bao bun with peppers. It was probably the simplest dish we had, but I loved the sauce on the meat!
Potato Skins (9/10) - 4 Deliciously battered mashed potato cakes that were fried to perfection with two sauces. It kinda reminded me of little corn bread cakes.
Brussel Sprouts (9.5/10) - If you like brussel sprouts you need these. They are so cheesy and some of the better ones I've ever had.
Salmon PLT (9.5/10) - This was a Kenny recommendation and it was a hit at our table. So well balanced between the salmon, the sauce, bread and veggies. Even though we were starting to feel so full everyone loved it. It wasn't too fishy and it was well constructed and an interestingly good sandwich. I would have given this a 10/10, but even though I like tomatoes, the small tomatos inside it were a little too thick for my liking. I thought it took away from some of the bursts of flavor of the sandwich, because I was biting into a little juicy tomato. But to each their own.
I'll definitely be coming back!! Kenny also recommended going to their brunch. Sounds delicious and we...
Read moreServer was rude…Food was good but the service towards the end was really terrible. My group and I were not being loud or obnoxious inside of the restaurant yet our server gave us attitude the moment our initial server had to go on break and introduced the new server to us. We were aware and moved on with our time in Lamplight lounge enjoying our food and decor. We are over the age of 21 and some of us ordered alcoholic beverages since we were sat by the bar area and wanted to try the fun-themed drinks. After all more than half of the menu was alcoholic drinks. We all showed our IDs to our initial server and mentioned to the host before being seated that we are of drinking age since they asked us and we informed them with proof. My friends enjoyed their drinks and offered those who did not order alcoholic drinks to try theirs. As soon as we passed them to each other, the second and rude server who was tending to us immediately snarked at us and we apologized for any miscommunication or misunderstanding that occurred. We explained to the server that we are of drinking age and just wanted to try the drink our friend offered to us. We all showed our IDs again and she said, “Okay, but I cannot have you all pass drinks like that again.” We were all baffled by that comment and explained to her we are paying customers who have the right to try each other’s food and drinks if we want to. She does not carry the Disney etiquette at all either. We left multiple complaints about this server and we did not leave a tip for that server yet we noticed in the bill she already included a 15% gratuity for herself only since it included her name and not the initial server to which we tried to tip but had no way in doing so without also tipping the rude server. We were cordial and respectful (even though she was not so respectful nor nice with us) towards this server and even asked why it was a problem to try each other’s drinks which we paid for and showed all our IDs prior to ordering them. She only shook her head and gave us a smirk. Not a complete answer to make us understand why it was a problem to her or the restaurant. She never checked in on us, never asked if we wanted more water, never was around to ask for anything else and whenever we tried to call her attention she would ignore us. The only time she came around was to grab our plates without asking if we were done and for the bill. Very rude service from her and I hope she is aware of her attitude towards others that may face her as their server. I will not be name dropping but I will share our experience that occurred at Lamplight…we only wanted to experience that Disney magic yet she ruined it by her attitude towards us for no apparent reason. I hope the manager or whoever hired her looks into her service because that was very rude of her to react/act like...
