The rooms here were really nice and spacious. It was awesome having a full sized kitchen as well as a separate bunkbed room and bathroom for my son. Water pressure was good, however, at the sinks, we never had cold water. It was always room temp or hot. The beds were very firm, but when you're exhausted from Disneyland, you don't care.
I will say though that it was a bit frustrating that we were never informed prior to arrival that carpet and drape cleaning would be happening during our stay. We were never given a concrete date that this would be taking place. We were given a date range of one week and the cleaning could take place any day during that week at any time from 9 to 5. When you're staying with a toddler for nearly a week, it's a huge inconvenience to try to keep everything off of the floor for 80% of the trip.
Also upon check in, we informed the front desk staff that we did not want turn-down service for the duration of our stay for personal reasons, yet this was not entered into the system correctly and we came back from Disneyland one day to find that someone had been in our room. We did not want anyone coming into our room and made this explicitly clear upon check in. So it was a bit disappointing that these explicit instructions weren't followed.
I also must say that for the price we paid to stay here, the continental breakfast was really... honestly gross and disappointing. There were no muffins, no croissants, no danishes, pastries, etc. or if there were, they at least weren't clearly visible. There also wasn't any biscuits and gravy which isn't a big deal, but is usually a staple at most continental breakfasts. The batter for the waffles on the left side station was consistently watery and gross. It was fine on the right side. The empty whipped cream canisters were not replaced on either side either day we went for breakfast . The tater tots they served one day were rock hard and disgusting. The meats and eggs were the best part, but one of the days the meat was sliced andouille sausage which was super spicy, not good for kids and not really something I would consider to be a breakfast item. After two days of subpar breakfasts, we decided to just buy breakfast in the park for the rest of the trip.
ALSO, the walk to and from the park is 15-20 minutes one way. If you plan to come back to the hotel for a break in the middle of your park days, you're GOING to hurt by the end of your trip. Thank goodness CVS was next door for blister bandaids.
We never did make it up to the pool because we were so busy, but this hotel was VERY clean, so I imagine the pool would have been nice as well.
While the rooms were nice, next time we will stay closer to the park, hopefully somewhere with a...
Read moreThe rooms are very nice and clean and huge!!! This is the second good neighbor hotel we tried and we liked the room itself a lot more. However, it is a bit of a walk from Disneyland, I would say about 15 minutes, maybe 17 with lights. However, the huge rooms made for a very comfortable stay. Also bathroom was large with walk in shower!! Everything was super clean and we even had a stove top.
The breakfast buffet was great. Good amount of options, friendly attentive kitchen staff kept everything stocked in the buffet line however the amount of waffle makers to guests is not great. It's almost impossible to make a waffle unless you're willing to wait 15 mins in line. Loved that they had to-go cups to make your tea or coffee for the walk to the parks!
We declined daily cleaning upon check in to be more environmentally conscientious plus not give the staff unnecessary work but did ask for fresh towels half way through our trip. No one ever came to our room to drop them off. We ended up using pool towels which are super scratchy and small and not very absorbent.
We paid extra for a park view room which we could see a little bit of the back side of cars land but it was mostly blocked by trees so that was a bit disappointing, however we had a good view of fire works.
My only big complaint was the night we checked in the gentleman was a bit rude. He made sure I was aware that he was annoyed we were checking in at 11pm even though I called at 1pm that afternoon to advise of our ETA as we were driving from another state. Furthermore, when I asked about a cart to load our luggage so we were not making multiple trips to our room, he stated that if there isn't one out front we don't have any... That was it.. considering it was 11pm and no one else was pulled up front it seemed unlikely they were all being used. More likely they just weren't returned to the front and he wasn't going to go out of his was to help us find one. We ended up making 3 trips between strollers and luggage and cooler ECT.
So although the room itself is 5 stars the hospitality at the front desk leaves a lot to be desired especially when you're on vacation going to the most magical place on earth you hope for happy friendly faces at your hotel and you will not get that here.
My last criticism is although the pool, hot tub and splash pad are awesome they close a little early (10p) so you have to choose between seeing fireworks at the park (you cannot see from the hotel pool) or skipping fireworks to have a quick swim and soak your poor mangled feet in the hot tub after a 14 hour day of pushing strollers...
Read moreWell where to begin let's see it seems like the last couple of trips and vacations we've taken we've stayed at the Marriott Hotels or something that's affiliated with Marriott. I can tell you that I have not been let down yet by Marriott. On this occasion we just happen to be going to Disneyland. We did book in advance but not that far in advance and still came out with a magnificent price. Let's start off with the service first of all the service the customer service was excellent from head to toe. You are greeted with smiles a friendly attitude the people who check you in I mean what can I say they answer every question let you know everything that you need to about their hotel. Second would be the workers there the other workers the people who do the breakfast in the morning and people who clean I mean even they have smiles they are very approachable and kind. Not only that they bust their butts making breakfast and that hotel what it is. So hats off to this place. Third our room first time I had to take pictures of a room I forgot I was just so amazed But the rooms were Immaculate everything up-to-date, bathrooms plenty big enough, the rooms it had one big queen size bed and one couch that folds out to be a bed. Two TVs. But the best part is it came with the fridge and stove and all the stuff you needed to cook it's supplied you with everything which made it good for us trying to save money to where we could go to a store and buy stuff instead of spending it all at Disneyland trying to feed ourselves. Not only that the view is good. And for some strange reason not that I'm complaining it wasn't as noisy as I thought it would be. Not even during breakfast oh that's another thing they serve breakfast it's not something real big so don't go expecting something spectacular but it's good enough to get in the kids and stomach I mean they have pancakes eggs sausage or ham this depending on what day Bagels cereal oatmeal bananas fruit just the regular stuff oh and potatoes but nothing real big but it's it's enough it's good. And not only that but it was only 5 minutes away it was only a 5-minute walk away from Disneyland. Will I recommend this place or come back hell yeah in a heartbeat. So if you need a place to stay check out the Marriott so far I have not been let down specially from this one. Oh yeah and by the way they do have a pool a workout room and if you want to do your laundry they have a spot there too you can use some washing machines. So all the workers all the staff members at Marriott thank you for making our weekend one wonderful weekend. God bless you all...
