Ghiradelli is delicious. Surprisingly, their iced coffee is really good. I always ask for whipped cream in my coffee since it's made fresh at the location. If you are not pleased with your drink they will remake the drink to your liking.

Of course, their ice cream sundaes are delicious. Personally, I'm not a big fan of milk chocolate fudge because of its sweetness, so I love how they can substitute milk chocolate for dark chocolate fudge. The ice cream used at Ghiradelli is Dreyers, so nothing new. I will say the ice cream worth trying here is their chocolate ice cream! Unlike the typical Dreyer's chocolate flavor, the one sold at this shop is Dreyer's chocolate made with Ghirardelli chocolate! It's so indulgent and delicious!

If you don't like chocolate or coffee based beverages, you could also get shakes or their delicious raspberry sorbet smoothie. Pricing is on the pricier side, but well worth it. The chocolate displays are always well organized and clean. I'm sure they have a reason, but the only thing I dislike is how they don't cover your drinks. We stopped here for a rest & some treats. My family and I had just been saying how the Disney employees in the park were so unfriendly this trip and seemed bored or overworked , making us feel that some of the magic had gone. As we entered the chocolate shop, we were taken a bit back and pleasantly surprised at how bubbly and friendly the employees of Ghirardelli's were! What really made it special is how kind Irene our cashier was. She asked if we had a Disney member discount. When I told her we didn't, she asked if I was military. I was (an Army Veteran), and she applied a discount! All of the Disney stores in said they didn't offer a discount to military families in all park stores & yet this little ice cream parlor not only did, but asked ME for it first! Disney seems to support all kinds of things in there parks today but don't support our military? A thank you to Irene and the staff for putting a smile on our face with tasty treats, positive attitudes and smiles. And to Ghirardelli's for recognizing our Military members. Disneyland could learn a thing or 2 from this...

The Baseline: The Ice Cream Baseline consists of having quality dairy product, variety of flavors/mix-ins, and serving quantity for the price. Ghirardelli hits 2 out of 3.

Food: The ice cream base (dairy and non-dairy) is of very high quality where the milk/cream ratio is make the ice cream smooth and silky. The flavor selection is not broad but the assembly with mix ins is high quality and good, probably the best hot fudge I can get. The serving sizes are large enough but this has the added expense of theme park pricing.

Service: Service is easy as you order from the register and pickup from the window. Everyone is friendly and smiling as to be expected at a Disney Theme Park.

Ambiance: This is a walk up ice cream stand with dedicated seating outside that is in some competition with other restaurant patrons with adjacent establishments. This is in Disney California Adventure so the San Fransokyo theme for Big Hero Six rocks. Top marks for ambience.
