We had heard good things about this place that opened up with the new San Fran Sokyo area so we wanted to try it out. This place does have mobile order (which I highly recommend), but the times get taken up fast so choose your slot right now for the future so you can get a time when you know you will be over there. When we got over there the next time was 45 minutes out, so we got in the line to order in person. This line was NOT moving AT ALL. So we chose the mobile order time and went and checked out some other things and came back. When we came back we walked right up to the mobile order window and got our food instantly, a time saver. However we did eat at peak lunch time with all of the other food places around in this area. Although there is a HUGE area to sit, every single table was taken and you kind of have to wait around for someone to get up, so I would avoid peak time if you can. We did eventually find a table in the sun since that was all that was coming available. It is a very busy area. We ordered the Birria ramen, the dumplings, and the Baymax macaron. The macaron was honestly the best thing here and one of the best macarons we tried throughout Disneyland. It was creamy and had hints of Nutella in it and was perfect. The Ramen was okay but could use more flavor. We honestly had an amazing ramen over at Trader sam’s tiki bar at the Disneyland hotel. The dumplings were literally just fried wontons. They were adequate and hit the spot. Overall for theme park food, this Asian style place is actually quite decent. I think if we came back we would try another food place in that area or try some...
Read moreWhere to begin... I've been a chef at Panda Express for three years now and that's more chinese than this place.
For $12 (More if you don't have a pass.) I got chicken, veggies (onion, celery, red bell peppers, edamame, and carrots), and mandarin orange sauce over white rice.
The rice was a little over cooked so it was very stick but that was alright. The veggies were floppy and grey so it was obvious they were not fresh and i got maybe 2 oz, of chicken for twice that in sauce.
The sauce was overpowering the flavor of everything so much I couldn't taste the chicken. To make it worse the sauce tastes like it comes out of a bottle on the bottom shelf of a Target's "oriental" section.
I wish i was kidding when I say my bowl was swimming in sauce. I could not finish the bowl which is rare for me when I'm as hungry as I was and hate throwing out food. Eventially it got to the point where the rice and sauce mixed into a tasteless paste.
1/5 for sure will not even attempt again. There is a reason this place has almost no line ever. If you do decide to try it get a sample of bread from boudin's next door after to get rid of the taste becuase water wasn't cutting it.
I love Disney food and made it part of my bucket list to try something from every place in both parks, so far this is the worst of them all. Very disappointing and I hope...
Read moreVisited here during 2 visits as this seems to be one of the few places offering Asian food. Mobile order is definitely the way to go as the line was always long during lunch and dinner time. We usually ordered about 1-2 hours before as the time slots would usually get filled up if we waited till when we wanted to eat to order.
The vegetarian yaki udon and it was not that great as it was cold when I picked it up from the window. I didn't know there would be so much ginger mixed in (as I'm not a fan of ginger). The chicken teriyaki was a bit better but it a tad too sweet for my tastes. The lychee tea was probably the best part, the tea was refreshing and the lychee jelly was a nice addition. The beef birria ramen left a lot to be desired though. I had to eat through the whole bowl of ramen before I could find the beef which turned to just be 1-2 bites of brisket. If you have a small appetite or want a small snack, I recommend order the kids serving size of their dishes. It comes on a small plate but is a decent amount of food for the price.
Kinda let down with the quality of the food here after hearing good reviews about it while...
