This is a Long review....... I hope you take the time to read it in it's entirety, but only because I believe in taking the time..... WHEN SOMETHING .....IS TRULY AWESOME!!!!!||We have stayed at just about every hotel near Disneyland, including all three on property!!!!!! Up until this trip -(outside of being on a Disney Property Proper - I'll tell you more later) we had regarded the Westin (right across the street from California Adventure) as our favorite....... But if you have the time to read on .... I will tell you why that... may not be the case anymore... ||We were there this past weekend (8/8-8/9/2025).......||1. The single , and probably most pertinent reason (that I personally would have an issue with a hotel), is simply..... Is there a smell, WHEN I.... ANYTHING.... WALK IN ..... THE RECEPTION AREA....STEPPING OF OF AN ELEVATOR, AND WORST OF ALL.... UPON ENTERING YOUR ROOM!!!!!!! I can tell you FIRSTHANDEDLY....... YES... THERE WAS A "SMELL" OF CLEANLINESS!!!!!!!||2. Location, Location, Location...... You can't really get any closer than The Candy Cane Inn......||3. Amenities....... I will discuss this further down... like I said if you have the time to read.....||4. Cost..... This True Gem....... or rather True Treasure...... although may seem a bit pricey upon making a reservation...... BELIEVE YOU ME.... IS ACTUALLY A BETTER DEAL THAN YOU WILL FIND ANYWHERE ELSE.... FOR YOUR SPECIAL TRIP!!!!!!!!||5. Ambience. The Candy Cane Inn..... simply outshines EACH AND EVERY OTHER HOTEL ANYWHERE NEAR.... WHEN IT COMES TO THIS ASPECT!!!!!||6. Safety and Security ||Now I will breakdown the above: #1....... There is nothing worse than a "SMELL"!!!! There is an old saying.... "Cleanliness is next to Godliness"!!!! Now that is the epitome of the Candy Cane Inn!!!!! You, simply won't find a cleaner.... anything..... hotel, reception area, room, pool area, Breakfast Salon, or even parking!!!!!||#2. Location!!! The Candy Cane Inn is the closest you can get to the parks (on the same side of the Street!!!!!) You can walk to the Entry of Disneyland... in about 5-15 minutes - depending on your pace...... my wife and son made it in about 7 minutes!!!!.....(A word of advice.....If you know what a "ROPE DROP" is.... well then you know the Best Point of Entry... is Harbor Blvd - because the parking structure doesn't open until 7:00am!!!!).||#3.... Amenities...... A. There is Shuttle directly from the Hotel to The Disneyland entry. B. There is Free Breakfast available from 6:30 am-9:30 am.... and it is complete..... including various Croissant Breakfast Sandwiches with an available toaster, All kinds of Donuts and Pastries, Bagels, Oatmeal, several cereals, hard boiled eggs, lots of fresh fruit, OIKOS yogurts, Juices, Milk, coffee, and even a waffle station!!! C. A pool that is open from 7:00am until 11:00pm!!! 4: A fitness center.... although small... it WOULD ABSOLUTELY SUFFICE FOR ANY VACATION WORKOUT DEEMED NECESSARY!!! D. 24 hour laundry facility available. E. FREE PARKING!!!!! F. Coffee and Cold Water... even a special daily varietal..... available 24 hours!!!! F. A refrigerator in every room - and 24 hour access to a microwave. ||#4. Cost...... Believe it or not.....with everything that is avaliable... YES YOU MAY GET "STICKER SHOCK" when viewing "online"...... but what you see is what you pay....... Many other locations..... will "sneak in" a hidden fee..... or charge additional parking... or even a "tax - Anaheim has a few extras". But in the end..... ABSOLUTELY COST WORTHY!!!!!!||#5... The ambience of The Candy Cane Inn.... can best be summarized as..... (You can't believe where you are !!!!!)||#6 Safety and Security. When traveling with your family this is Paramount. Let me tell you..... the Security team is always vigilent....... never "stuck in a cubilce, small office, or kiosk!!!!! They are active watching and patrolling 24/7!!!!! ||In Summary, The Candy Cane Inn isn't BRAND NEW, BUT IT IS STILL MAINTANIED AT A LEVEL.... THAT EXCEEDS SEVERAL NEW LOCATIONS....... And I may have forgotten to mention the ABOLUTE LUSHNESS OF THE "GREENERY".... I've never stayed at any hotel...... (well maybe Hawaii and Fiji are a bit better), that can come close to the Natural Beauty of the Lush Greenery throughout the entire property!!!! It is enough to make you forget where you are!!!!! I will repeat, we've stayed at most locations near Disneyland...... And had considered our favorite "Off Property" location to be The Westin......but thanks to this past weekend.... I'm not so sure..... ||Wishing you the Best...
Read moreMy husband and I recently visited Disneyland for the first time. The Resorts were way out of our budget so I did a lot of research on the hotels surrounding Disneyland. I finally decided on Candy Cane Inn. It was AMAZING!! I had read it had been renovated in the past few years. It was so nice! The lobby was gorgeous and modern looking. There was an urn of water and fruit flavored water for guests. The front desk staff were very helpful. We arrived around 11:00 am and they took care of our luggage while we explored Disney Springs. I had sent them an email prior to the trip to make sure they had to correct credit card on file. I mentioned that it was our 36th wedding anniversary and they offered to move us to a King Size bed at a lower price. I gladly accepted that offer. When we went to our room, there were 6 delicious cookies waiting for us in celebration of our anniversary. A very nice touch. The room was beautiful. I fell in love with the wallpaper in the room. It was very nice gray subtle striped pattern that Iâd for sure put in my house. There were several goodies on the bathroom counter in individual packages; cotton swabs, a shower cap, a manicure kit, cotton rounds for makeup removal, and a comb. Way more things than you get at most hotels. The beds. My goodness. My husband and I both agreed that was the most comfortable bed we had EVER slept on. It was way nicer than the mattress we just purchased a few years ago for a ridiculous price. I meant to ask them what brand it was because it was awesome. If it was sold to the public Iâd buy one. And the king-size pillows were also wonderful. We are both very picky about our pillows but they were perfect. Not too hard and not too soft. Iâd buy those as well if I knew the brand name. The A/C worked great and my husband froze me to death the entire time! The grounds were gorgeous. They spend a lot of time and money on their landscaping and it was beautiful. The pool was very nice and you felt like you were in a tropical paradise. The breakfast was delicious and filling. They had breakfast sandwiches every morning on a large croissant with different fillings. There was bacon/egg/cheese, sausage/egg/cheese, ham/cheese and others. All kinds of pastries, 3 types of bagels, coffee cakes, toast, oatmeal, 3 types of juice, hot chocolate, coffee, boiled eggs, cereals, and cheese cubes. They also had a beautiful selection of fruit and whoever cut that fruit is an expert with a knife. Gorgeous thin slices all displayed professionally. I almost hated to grab some because it was so pretty! But I did! Kiwi, watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, pineapple, orange. It was all very tasty and fresh. There was also a large basket with bananas, apples and oranges. Again the staff was everywhere making sure things got replenished and everything stayed clean. There is a cute trolley that makes trips to the parks and back every hour. We managed to catch it a few times and it was a nice break after walking so much. It was very quiet even though itâs on a busy street and California Adventure is directly behind the hotel. We stayed in Room 225 and it was perfect. There were ice machines throughout the hotel. We are heavy water drinkers and we didnât think theyâd appreciate us filling out Yeti cups multiple times a day from their water urns in the lobby. We walked down the block to a CVS and grabbed some large jugs of water and a 6 pack to take to the parks. That worked out well. It was a 5-10 minute walk to the parks depending on the redlight you had to wait at. There was a nicely landscaped area with a wide sidewalk. There were always people around and we felt very safe. Candy Cane Inn was a fabulous place to stay and Iâd definitely stay there again. The staff were all wonderful. The premises, location, breakfast, and ambience were exceptional....
Read moreThis was my first time staying at this location, the rooms and grounds were clean! I absolutely loved staying at the Candy Cane Inn for my Disney family vacation. I had a deluxe double Queen bed room as did my family members. My room was on the second floor (226 I think) with the perfect view of the Guardian's Mission Breakout tower and fireworks that go off around 9:30pm. You can also see the back of Radiator Spring Racers ride. It came equipped with all you need (mini fridge, microwave, iron, ironing board, full size shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and etc. It was spacious for my family of four. They offer free parking and a free shuttle that will take you to the parks and back. The shuttle leaves from the Inn on the top of every hour until 12am. The shuttle picks up from Disneyland a quarter after every hour with 12:45am being the last pick up. Parking is one car per a room. They have a pool and hot tub (my kids loved it!). The complimentary breakfast is nice (includes breakfast croissant sandwiches, bagels, donuts, hard boiled eggs, fruits, waffles and pancakes maker, whipped cream, syrup, cereal, juices, etc) and you can eat it poolside!
The service is amazing! They are very welcoming at the front desk and actually all the employees were kind and had a smile on their face. I always saw someone cleaning the outside flooring, stairs, and scrubbing the railings! They keep the grounds very clean! I was surprised how attentive they were cleaning the outside. There is a lot of greenery which is calming and pleasant to see.
It's in a great location. At most a 10 minute walk to the Disneyland entrance but if you're a fast walker it's more around 7-8min. There is a CVS and Walgreens a short distance away (3-5min walk). There are also food options within walking distance even going to Downtown Disney to eat is a good option.
We did request our room to be clean after two days which they did a great job of but I'm not sure the sheets were replaced. I think the bed was just made. Which would be fine but we had a beach day and wanted clean sheets. Also our drain in the shower was a little clogged but not too bad and definitely not a deal breaker. To be fair we forgot to mention the shower drain to them and just dealt with it. I'm sure they would've helped fix the issue if we brought it up to them because they had GREAT customer service. My family was also happy with their rooms. The rooms are entered from the outside like with motels but that was fine! Some people might not prefer that. I personally didn't mind. We stayed for 7 nights.
Overall, I was so happy with The Candy Cane Inn and will definitely be back for future Disney trips. It definitely added to the magic! I...
