First time to Disney California Adventure Park on 6/8/2023. We were excited to go on the Toy Story Midway Mania. At first, there was some confusion because the sign at the entrance shows the ACTUAL time on the left, not the wait time - the wait time was posted on the right side of the entrance. When we first stopped by, the wait time was over 120 minutes though! Yikes! According to the Disney app, the ride had been paused so we walked over to the Abdominal Snowman Frosted Treats, picked up some It's Mango in a cup, went on another ride, and came back when the line was wait time was posted at 40 min. We were stuck in the room on the right for a very long time and there was nothing to do and not much to look at - our kid almost lost it. The hardest part was watching numerous lightning pass groups of people coming on the ride in front of us - literally groups of 20+ people would cut in line while the rest of us were just standing there. I really believe our wait time would have been cut in half or more, if there was no line cutting. I understand why Disney has that policy and the money it brings in to maintain and support the park, but I just will never like class systems and frankly in this line, that classism was blatantly obvious for all to see. When we finally got on the ride, we were glad that we stuck out the wait. Its one of the best rides at California Adventure Park. You are playing arcade-like games by shooting a cannon-like object in front of you. Its all computer graphics so nothing real is flying around and you are perfectly safe. You need to wear the special glasses they give you to see the ride properly. The ride does have some rotating of the seats around and probably a few more twists and turns than really necessary, but it was not enough to bother me and I have a really sensitive stomach. At the end of the ride, you get to see your total points which was a lot of fun. We wished we could ride it again, but not with that wait time. Overall, it was a flat ride good for all ages, but those with inner ear issues should consider avoiding it due to the turning and spinning. Our wait time ended up being longer than...
Read moreA delightful ride for young and old. A little jerky for those sensitive to that, with all the spinning your ride does, but a nice cannon shooting game for those with the video game itch to scratch. Fast pass just started for this ride about a month ago, and the attractiveness of this ride jumped. It's now about a 50 minute wait on average for this ride. Recent changes made Mr. Potato head is part of the Fast pass line now. Formerly part of the stand-by line. Hopefully it reverts back since the Fast Pass line doesn't usually extend that far back. But who knows...Once Fast Pass+ starts this summer,...
Read moreI understand that if you are paying for Genie + you shouldn’t have to wait in the regular queue. However, when the workers let 20 people from the lightning lane for every 2 people in the regular line, it makes the wait twice as long as the posted time.
Guess I didn’t realize that they’re paying to walk on the ride instead of just having a shorter wait. Maybe they should look into limiting the lightning lane opportunities every hour because there was a constant line of lightning lane and they were letting everyone on immediately while us regular people say and watched for hours...
