Apple Dumplin Antiques & Collectibles — Attraction in Anderson

This store has a great variety of collectables. We WERE regular customers, but would not recommend to ANYONE--here's why:

The last time we were in the store one of the clerks was VERY rude to both my mother and I. We will not make a purchase here ever again. We were working on a home improvement project and happened to drop by to see if they still had a table available. We both had boots and jeans on, but were by no means dressed up. Due to our appearance, the clerk followed us around the store as if we were shoplifters, absolutely unbelievable. Previously, we had made purchases in the store when we were well dressed and were treated oppositely. If you're a well dressed lady who appears affluent when shopping you will be catered to, if not, expect to be harassed and followed around the store. Absolutely appalled.

We loved the items and prices, but could not believe we would be treated this way. Under no circumstance...

My husband and I wondered around the store for at least an hour. They have some old things up to some modern stuff. They had a large variety of old dishes. I love old dishes. They had some repurposed items like a shelf made out of the head board of a bed, a desk drawer converted into a small table, wooden pallets convert into shelving. My husband found an old glass milk bottle from the town he grew up in. They had a few old Collectible Hess Trucks which were priced rather low. I found a couple of pieces of costume jewelry that I liked.

Worth the ride from our home in Athens, the Apple Dumplin' Antique Mall was a happy surprise. Forgot to take pics but dozens of booths including an easy upstairs. Staff very nice. This mall was different in that ladies must put their purses in individually locked lockers or leave your purse in the car (seems there have been instances of purses breaking more expensive items) and they do not offer baskets to put your "got-to-have" finds in. But if your finds are too big or too many to carry, just take up to front to a staging area. Our finds were some great bargains and many with added discounts. Will...
