Great history inside this amazing building. My husband and I drive by all the time and never thought to stop in. I am so glad we finally decided to take a look. We were there for 2 hours. The exhibits were nice and very informational. I learned things I've never known about. I'm originally from Honea Path. So to learn that we once had our own currency was really fascinating. I will include a picture! Over all it was a great place to visit. Free admission, but at least donate a buck or 2.

I visited this museum for the first time recently while in Anderson. I admit that I wasn't expecting much from a free museum. However, I was very pleasantly surprised by how nice this museum was. For a local history museum, they have a very extensive collection. Some of the exhibits reminded me of the SCSM in Columbia, which I love. I also loved the activity tables throughout the museum, they kept my toddler occupied. If in Anderson, this museum is definitely worth the visit.

If you haven't been in a few years like myself then you are past due. The new exhibits are quite impressive. Good a/c on a hot days. Nice bathrooms. Took our family visiting from Texas and they had a nice time. There's a Lego play area for kids needing a break. And even a talking hologram!! Adequate parking as well as handicapped parking very handicap accessible throughout the building. Photo opportunities throughout near Anderson County downtown historic district.

I came out to the museum on Saturday morning/afternoon. The museum was amazing, and I really enjoyed learning about the town of Anderson. Never knew Amelia Earhart landed in Anderson. I learned a lot of new things. However, I originally came to see the Andersonians in war the exhibit that Mrs. Emily Wright had the honor in helping create. All I am going to say is from the walk in to the walk out is beautiful and breathtaking. Emily walked with my husband and I and answered the questions we had. Even things we didn’t notice Emily pointed out to us. You just have to see it for yourself. It is all amazing. From the marble floors, to the snow floors, the grass floor, All the guns, rifles, cannonball & everywhere in between. This exhibit will make you feel like you were there in those times. The exhibit was phenomenal. Definitely worth checking out. Ask for Emily if there is anything you want more information on she can definitely help. Thank you Emily for being amazing, and spending a little of your Saturday with...

The Anderson County Museum continues to be a place that is ever changing and every bit as full of knowledge about how our area has grown over the years! It has been years since I went previously and the new exhibits are nice. To learn about the people from here that have made impacts in so many walks of life is nice! From musicians, to sports players in the Hall of Fame, to engineers, and beyond. Looking forward to the new Andersonians in War exhibit they are working on now... to tell the stories of so many brave people who faught for our freedoms.

They actually do a lot of great activities with/for the community as well. Great for children and adults alike. Check them out if you haven't been... free admission and their gift shop has great, local things to...
