First time visiting on a Sunday afternoon with my hubby and our 8 year old son. I really don't think it's a kid friendly atmosphere to be totally honest with the especially with the language being used..(Cussing) that we heard going on by others while eating. We ordered two apps which were the mozzarella sticks and fried mushrooms! They were okay. For our meal I ordered the chicken fingers with fries and a side salad. Salad was great! Fries were amazing! The chicken fingers were very greasy and not flavorful. It was like eating burnt grease. My hubby had the smooth mushrooms burger with fries. He enjoyed it with a blue moon 🌙. Our son decided he would just eat off of our plates and eat the mozzarella sticks. Our sodas were watered down. I just didn't enjoy the food as much as I thought would. I have heard alot of great things about this place and I'm not seeing what's so great about the this place. It's basically a bar not a restaurant for a family. Local singles and couples restaurant yes definitely but not for families with children. I didn't mind the loud music playing. The play list was fine. Great songs 🎵 were playing. I think the food needs alot of attention most lack of seasoning and less greasy foods...it needs alot of flavor added...The service was great. Our server was new. She was working on her 2nd night serving and she really tried. We left her a good tip! She was very friendly and stayed on top of everything. Im not sure what her name was, I guess I should have asked but she didn't introduce us to who she was..This place has a redneck vibe to it which I do like. Im a country gal myself. I do hope my comment is seen and maybe the kitchen manager or owner could work with the cooks and maybe add some flavor to their menu items less grease but would be great. My chicken fingers & fries were placed into a basket tray and all my food sat in that grease and thats all I could taste. Im not trying to give a bad review. Im not a Karen. I would like to see this restaurant show some improvement than struggle in the future..Whats the point in giving a review of we can't be totally honest about our...
Read moreA lot changed over the last 2 years. I use to love coming here, the food was great the service was great and just a nice little hole in the wall bar & grill. I will probably not go back after todays experience. The server was new which is fine but after asking for straws he passed twice with drinks for other tables but no straws for us. After some time had passed my husband popped up to the bar and grabbed straws to which the waiter finally decided to bring straws shortly after. We ordered one irsh dip sandwich, one shroom sandwich and a kids hamburger. 30 minutes later the food still hasnt arrived. The server comes by and asked if he can get is anything, i laughed and said food. Joking but also seious cause it was a really long wait. The hamburger hamburger came as a cheeseburger which my son wont eat cause he doesnt like american cheese, not a huge big deal but kinda annoying. My husbands shroom burger was pink in the middle he ate it anyway because he didnt want to send it back. My Irish dip was a sad little sandwich with literally 4 small slivers of roast beef and the dipping sauce was colder than my sweet tea. I mentioned it to the server who said he would go warm it up for me. When he came back with a different bowl i assumed he corrected it. It was warm not hot and tasted awful the sandwich was bland at best. I was so disappointed especially with 2 of the meals costing $15. Would have been cheaper and more satisfying to have bought from arbys. The small blue margarita was well made but hardly worth the $6 price tag. I dont know what changed but it definitely was not in a...
Read moreJust finished having dinner at Uptown. I haven’t been there in years and can say it will be several more years before I give it another chance.
Pros: Nice environment, staff was friendly and attentive (I had two waitresses during service and the second one was great and was running the whole floor)
Cons: Food was average for the price and the kitchen staff -read more below about that.
I ordered wings as an appetizer and one of the burgers as an entree. The burger itself was fine, but nothing you couldn’t get anywhere else for $10. My major issue came in with the wings. 10 wings for $14 isn’t a bad price, but still isn’t cheap. I had 4 wing that still had a fair amount of pink in them. Ate the other wings but let the waitress know they were undercooked. Her reply was that something was wrong with the frier and another table had the same complaint.
This worries me. If a kitchen staff knows there is something wrong with the frier and still serves food that can (in my case, was) undercooked, why serve it? I just accepted that I would pay for it and I did, but it still resonates with me that I paid $14 for some undercooked wings and a kitchen staff that was...
