I was excited to try this shop as I had heard good things. First the good: service was very attentive, friendly and helpful with the tiniest degree of haughtiness, which is a calculated part of the atmosphere I expect. I loved the customer service rep's look, very old-time-candy-store. It's a very clean bright store as well. There's not much in there, though. A few packages of cotton candy, espresso drops, and displays of the assortment boxes. Go to the counter to choose the candies if you want an assortment. Also, the chocolates are just not that good. I've had a lot of true primo chocolates; they are so smooth and rich that you sort of melt a bit yourself, and one will do you for the day. These taste like what I'd make at home: lemon drop is lemon and confectioners sugar in a shell, there's dried fruit dunked in chocolate, and covered almonds. The ingredients seem run-of-the-mill, and the chocolate is definitely nothing special. Go get some dried fruit and good chocolate bars, and make your own. I got the espresso drops as I love the choc covered coffee beans; they were described as "not gritty like the covered beans," but they are gritty. It seems that the bean is ground into the chocolate rather than coated, and if you let it melt to savor, the grit is definitely there. They were tasty, but seemed a bit weak compared to the covered beans. Maybe the whole bean adds some oomph that these lack. Don't get me wrong; I am very happy to pay premium prices for primo chocolates (Godiva comes to mind) as they are SOO worth it. There's nothing here that is bad, but it's not the superior product that the price...
Read moreI had a fantastic visit! The customer service was awesome. I got some very good chocolate and local history facts from the owner. It was very nice to see him actually come out and speak with us. On top of that, I think the chocolates themselves are delicious. Unique flavors and beautiful designs. My favorites were the Cherry Blossom, the Mayan Spice, and the Chocolate peanut butter. The cherry blossom chocolate was tiedyed and super cute! The Mayan spice was super chocolatey, but ended with a sweet/spicy aftertaste. And the peanut butter looked like a little gem! All in all, it was a fantastic little experience. I highly recommend...
Read moreFind gorgeous chocolate truffles, delicious chocolates, and excellent service in the heart of Anderson, SC- the Electric City’s top-shelf chocolatier. The staff, two teenage girls, were very friendly and knowledgeable. We had lots of questions about the chocolates and truffles, and they were able to answer each one. We bought a gift box of a dozen to take home- a gift for ourselves! The young lady kindly wrote out a “map” of the box for us so we knew what we would be tasting when we got home. The prices were very reasonable for such good quality bonbons. I highly...
