Ware Appliance — Local services in Ankeny

Our dryer shot craps after 13 years of service. I figured it was a gamble to just replace the dryer so I went in search of a new washer and dryer. Ware’s didn’t open until 9am that day so I went to a couple of big box stores. Home Depot was one of them. I found a pair that I had found online, liked what I saw and was prepared to talk with someone as to why I would want these units. Nobody in the appliance area to talk to. Found somebody in another area working and they asked via walkie talkie for someone to come to the appliance area. Not a soul showed up. After 10 minutes I looked at my watch and it was 5 minutes to 9. So I left and drive to Ware’s. I was greeted immediately and the person answered all of my questions and then some. The prices at Ware’s were competitive but were $144 higher for the pair. I didn’t even negotiate because it’s a local business, owned and operated by a local family. In 15 minutes I had a delivery scheduled for two days later. At noon that same day I received a call from them stating they had an opening for delivery in 15 minutes. What a surprise. They delivered, set up, instructed us on use, registered the warranties and hauled away the old appliances all for the same price. So in the long run they were the same price as the big box store by the time you factor in the delivery, setup, haul away etc. I will never look anywhere else ever again. Great company, great service, great product and price....

The receptionist was very helpful. The owner however is just he opposite. I tried to get some warranty work done on a Whirlpool appliance. I did not purchase the appliance form Ware since I got everything as a package with a new kitchen. Got the appointment set up and I was informed on the day that I was to get the work done that they wouldn't be coming because warranty work didn't pay good enough. The canceled my service right there.

Ended up getting Westside Appliance from Des Moines to come out and take care of it. Extremely friendly and extremely helpful. Had the issue resolved quickly. I am completely satisfied with Westside Appliance and the way they communicate and take care of the customer.

Completely the opposite with Ware Appliance. Rude and not very helpful. Might be a different experience if you bought your appliance there. Can not recommend Ware at all. Go to Westside...

We purchased a built in microwave to replace our old one and my husband measured the space before we went and bought it. We did not know that door of the new microwave was larger and would not open when they went to install it. The guys who came tried really hard to get it in and were here longer than they were suppose to be at our house. My husband called to see if they had anyone they recommended to help fix the space and they said they did not. They said they would come back out and put it in, once we had the space fixed. When I called to schedule it, the owner told me we would be charged a 2nd install fee as they were here too long the 1st time. They were not very friendly and helpful and we will not be buying any other appliance from them...
