Rodman Comics — Local services in Ankeny

Every time I go in here I am always greeted with a nice "hello!" and a smile. This is a nice, local comic book shop that has comic books, some board games, and really any trading card series you could want. They also have things needed to expand your collection including card sleeves, binders, play mats, and sleeved pages. The only thing I dont like about the store is Friday night magic. Some of the people there are a little shady and they dont really have tables, they just put covers over their comic book cases. For Friday night magic, I would refer you to Arkham Games. But for anything else, I would probably choose Rodmans because of their helpful service and knowledge of the things that youre looking for. Not saying that Arkham doesn't do that, but Rodmans...

This store was great. It is a smaller comic shop, but the man that was in the store was probably the friendliest person I have ever encountered in a comic shop. They do have a lot of items in the store and some of them are more difficult to see due the limited space, however they are very friendly and helpful. The only suggestion that I would provide is to place the new comics in bags just to protect them a little better, possibly without tape so they can still easily identify new vs old books. I am only in the area for a week and a half, but have made 2 trips to this location, even though it was a bit of a drive. Excellent store, I hope they stay open for future trips...

I've been wanting to go here for awhile, but what I didn't know was "awhile" meant 12 years?! 😳 😆

It's very close to my parent's place, but I'm always so busy and on the clock. Not that this visit was any different as my parents put me to work, BUTT I did have a chance to stop by and this place did NOT disappoint! It's got everything you want and everything you don't need, just what a comic book store should be.

1st time I met Rod, and the nice young lady, and they were super friendly.

I wanted to buy a bunch of things, but limited myself to a few. 😏😆However, I ended up staying late to get things done and went back AGAIN!

I highly recommend this place!...
