Argo Cascades — Attraction in Ann Arbor

We went kayaking early August and had terrible experience with the amount of unattended children hanging out near every cascade. The children were blocking and jumping in front of kayaks causing several kayaks to flip. I will not recommend anyone try kayaking when it’s hot and packed with kids. Children didn’t get hurt thankfully, we were scraped up from flipping over, pretty painful. They need to limit or have separate times for hundreds of unattended kids playing. I went with a small group of friends and this place is DANGEROUS. There is no enforcement of alcohol and drugs, people swim and wade in the pools and right at the bottom of the waterfalls making it very dangerous for kayakers. Nobody ever moves out of the way when there is a boat coming down and kids are often unaccompanied. I had to jerk my boat to the left to avoid some people at the bottom of the last cascade and I ended up flipping and I got...

Great place to go with friends, not a lot of parking so I'd hate to see it on a busy day but on a chill weekday it was perfect. Tube's are $14 to rent but bring cross or watershoes not only to rent but just in general if you're a texture person or even to help with some of the slippery rocks if you end up not tubing and just walk or swim through.
