Don't go to this place if you believe that the disabled should not be abused or mocked, even if folks say the food is ok. On Tues, I ordered a bulgogi hoagie for my husband from the cafe down the block because he loves them and we order them often in the 8 years we have lived in our location. He can also walk, slowly, to that location which gives him a little bit of freedom and independence. I called the order in at about 7:25 p.m.; they said it would be ready in about 10 minutes. My husband walks slowly because he has a physical disability as well as mild dementia, a side effect of which is expressive aphasia. He is a meek, gentle soul. He set out almost right away. I received a call at 7:40 because he hadn't picked up the order yet. I said he should be there in about 10 minutes or less. She said they closed at 8:00. I said I was aware of it. When he arrived he managed to say the word 'hoagie', an accomplishment. She gave him a regular hoagie and no fries. When I called to ask where the fries were - I didn't realize it was not the right hoagie - she yelled at me and said that he just said the word hoagie and she complained that he has trouble talking and usually he goes in there with a carer. (Sometimes he does.) They were very abusive about how they treated him and treated me and said that he can't come back there again without a carer. She swore at me Korean and hung up. The next day I went in because I don't want my husband treated that way and she said we know your husband. We know what he orders and you can't send him in here without somebody who can talk and I said to her well if you know what he orders why didn't you give it to him? You had the order right there and I was upset and she said you have to leave and don't come back or I will call the police. As I was leaving she called the police, and she came out in the parking lot telling the police my license plate number etc. As if I was trying to get away after she told me to leave. I called the police myself to tell them where I lived. They came and the officer said that this woman told him that I would be back the next day which is absolutely untrue. I will never go back there again. My husband, no one, deserves to be...

Occasionally I have the misfortune of being hungry in Ann Arbor. One can't always brown bag it. This place, run by the owners, is unacceptable.

I have toured Korea and know how Korean food should taste. I also know how Korean people should act. Not only is the Korean food soggy and lazily prepared, the wife is extremely rude. I asked for my meal to be made extra spicy. She said, literally, no. I would have hung up if I hadn't been on deadline. (Apparently, the place makes its hoagies extra spicy via quicky cooked jalapenos, which works better than one would think.) She may have grunted at me when I arrived and definitely grunted at me when I politely said goodbye.

This behavior is so inconsistent with polite Korean society that it is astonishing to see it from people who clearly grew up in Korea. It. Is. Not. Done.

The attitude is shown as well by charging extra (2-3 dollars) for kimchi. Again, kimchi ALWAYS accompanies a Korean meal. This alone shows their contempt for their customers. If money were tight, the kimchi would be a ceremonial dollop. But it would be there.

In addition, the payment system they use assumes that the customer, who must take out, is expected to tip. Tip an OWNER for letting you pay? Please. Again, this would never happen in Korea, and it is not that common even in hyper-woke, pseudo-cosmopolitan Ann Arbor, where a tip bowl is more often provided.

I'd skip this place.

PS: I am aware that this place gets good marks from many. This may be for its former owners. It also be that Ann Arborites do not know what to expect. No...

I've previously written a positive review on this place. However, I've just had the worst experience at this restaurant. I arrived today at 1130am, and there were four clients in the shop- two were finishing their food, and two were waiting for their orders. I paid and waited, and about 15 people came after me.

After over half an hour wait, the two previous table were already gone, 3 tables of clients who came after me were served food, and one of the waitress came and asked if I ordered something which I did not. They have cleared ignored my order all together, so I asked for my money back and walked out without my lunch.

This is the worst customer service, and the owner has the nerve to say "sorry today is a busy day". If you have this kind of attitude you shouldn't be in the service...

Edit. Got a response from broadway saying this is not their container. Ummm. Wouldnt have taken a photo of the pathetic amount they gave me if it was not true. It was a to go order..and yes from broadway, and yes, i have not been back since. Why businesses dont admit their mistakes and follow up with lame excuses is mind boggling. Better to not respond at all! Dukboki $13+ tip. Wish i didnt tip, but didnt see my food until i got home! Not even half the container. Order hoagies..stay away from the rest

I had a great experience at Broadway Cafe near UMICH Medical Campus today. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was perfect for having deep conversations with the people I was with. I opted for the soondubu stew, and while the portion size was just right, I found it to be slightly on the sweeter side rather than being as spicy and savory as I expected. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed the dish and am looking forward to trying their seollongtang on my next visit. Great place for a quiet meal!

We've been coming here for over ten years now and still love coming out. Even after the owners changed a few years ago, they've been able to stay consistently good, which is rare. I would even argue that it's improved (expanded the Korean menu). Favorite order is the Cheesesteak Hoagie with all of the extra, asking for hot peppers on the side. Personally prefer that over the Bulgolgi version, but that's just personal taste. The Bulgolgi version is a bit sweeter but still good.
