Theatre Nova — Attraction in Ann Arbor

Great little theater! This is in a big yellow barn, but unfortunately not well advertised and somewhat hidden from street view. It is a small, intimate theater that does fabulous little shows. Becky Zarna Fox, who runs the theater is absolutely delightful. She looks for locally written plays and does things that you would not necessarily have seen elsewhere. Theatre Nova is an extremely impressive theater! They only show newly written plays by local Michigan playwrights which is so awesome! The quality here is unmatched, I’ve been blown away every time. Tiny little black box theater, very intimate. Usually only 2 or 3 actors in each play but it’s amazing the complexity they pack in. This place is tiny! And it seemed smelly...but that faded. The Christmas show was AMAZING. Perhaps I had low expectations, but I was extremely impressed with the comedy and performance, singing, dancing...pretty cool. If that is their normal work I would be glad to recommend...
